A creative force called Salon India


Salon India, the Indian arm of the London-based Salon International show, started off as an educational initiative by Professional Beauty India. Today as it gears up for its third edition, it is turning out to be a reference event for hairdressers where they learn, get inspired and upgrade their skills.

The importance of hair education cannot be stressed enough. Realising the growth gap in education and the potential of Salon International here, Professional Beauty launched the Indian edition – Salon India – in 2016. After the debut show received phenomenal response, Salon India returned in 2017 and is all set to come back in 2018. It is held on the sidelines of Professional Beauty Mumbai. This year it is scheduled on the 1st and 2nd of October at NSE Ground, Goregaon.

Driving force

Salon International London functions on the basic philosophy that hairdressers around the world have right to high quality, long format education. The motive behind the show’s tagline ‘Inspiring today’s hairdresser’ has been the driving force of the show for over 30 years. Professional Beauty India sought to bring the same passion for hair education here. This led to the formation of a unique platform that brings together best talent from across the country.

In the previous editions, Salon India has hosted industry stalwarts such as Seema V Jerajani, Savio John Pereira, Vipul Chudasama and Samantha Kocchar. While Seema and Savio will be performing again this year, Salon India will also have Dharmesh (Dodo) Hingorani of Zido Salon and Nayana Karunaratne. These hairstyling experts will demonstrate different looks and hair trends. They will give out expert tips and speak about overcoming challenges, too. Over the two days, the audience will get to be part of six enriching sessions. The Salon India schedule is full of trending hair cuts, hairstyling, bridal hair makeover, long and short hair cuts and style collections. If learning from industry experts and being ahead of the curve is your aim, then Salon India is not to be missed!

Interacting with experts

The audience at Salon India comprises experienced hairdressers who are looking at upgrading their skills. Taking time out from their everyday schedule, they come looking for expert training. Salon India not only affords them the opportunity to interact with pioneers from the industry but also gives them a chance to learn from them. At the end of every session, the floor is thrown open to audience for questions. The hairdressers can get the experts to clarify their queries, take suggestions from them and discuss the daily challenges that they face.
