Navreet Josan of MAC Cosmetics enlists the season’s top most bridal beauty trends.
Bridal trends for Autumn/Winter 2018 are all about projecting personality and going with what means beautiful to you. “There is no specific way to do make-up this season and this really expands a bride’s make-up options. Explore them, and make them your own” is what Navreet Josan, National Artist, MAC Cosmetics India has to advise on the bridal beauty trends in 2018.
Get that glow
There’s a coolness to using glitter and chrome finishes this season that takes them away from looking like clichéd bridal make-up. Adding shine to your eyes, cheeks or lips, but playing back the rest of the face makes traditional bridal make-up look modern.
Brides-to-be can take cues from the recently wrapped up India Couture Week, where shine dominated most of the beauty looks — crafted by M.A.C Cosmetics, as the show’s official beauty partner. It’s a big trend to wear with a little newness this bridal season.
Since bridal jewellery and lehengas tend to be quite rich in India, pairing them with neutral make-up gives it a chic and elegant look. A tad of shine helps the face come alive without looking too forced. Brides can use a concealer just where it’s required to cover any dark circles and pigmentation. At India Couture Week, the skin was plump, but mostly matte. It’s a good choice for Indian weather as it’s more longwearing, helps reduce the appearance of pores, fine lines and imperfections. Keeping the skin matte also helps accentuate the shine around the eyes and lips. Blush is a big trend this season, so definitely make it a part of your natural look.
Lining the top and bottom of the eye while letting go of a super dark smokey eye creates a contemporary look. Use a mid-tone brown eyeshadow to define your eyes and use an eyeliner/kajal to create beautiful kohl rimmed eyes. Pair it with a nude or bright lipstick to complete the look.
The idea of wearing colour on the eyes has gained popularity since last season. Its for brides that are not shy about standing out and making a statement. Have fun with it!
