Essential Looks 2018
Essential Looks is a reference showcase that ignites the creativity of hairdressers across the globe. Every year the brand’s experts put together a show for Indian hairdressers to provide guidelines for customizing the looks for Indian clientele. This year’s theme was Reinventing Hair. The idea behind each look is to reinvent, re imagine and re-inspire hair.
Schwarzkopf Professional is also celebrating 120 years of hair expertise. The journey through the years was evident in the sensational looks that were created for the Essential Looks 2018 show.
Before the ramp show began, Lesley addressed the audience. She enlightened them on the thought process behind Essential Looks and her contribution towards it. Kartik Kaushik, General Manager, Henkel Beauty Care (Schwarzkopf Professional), India, then took over the stage. He explained to the audience the vision behind Essential Looks. He also revealed that the brand will be coming up with many exciting innovations in the months to come.
Spotlight on ‘hair’
As the models commenced the catwalk, the audience were amazed by the hair, the overall look and theme for each trend.
It involved a combination of IGORA ColorWorx, Vibrance and Vario Blond colours to create club-inspired optical effects in coral and purple. It used the new Electric Gloss Technique.
The Real Me trend channels natural cool in every hue of nude. Using the new Colour Contour Technique, BLONDME and IGORA colours complement skin tone for a flattering look. It has high-contrast placements that emphasize a perfect combination of dark and light tones to frame the face.
Colour is all about the multi-dimensional. Rich IGORA and IGORA ROYAL colours are applied with the new Marbling Technique. Panels of contrasting reflects create the look of extra lift and a
‘lit from behind’ look.
#Royal Takeover with Dusted Rouge
A shimmering effect of different depths of tone with a result that looks lighter from underneath.
This trend was specially created for the modern Indian woman. The colour skewed towards natural and darker tones, which blend well, or highlights that lift the hair. The global is also mainly in the darker tones.
As the trends was presented, Lesley, Najeeb and Boni were on stage explaining each look. Najeeb and Boni even did live cut and styling demos. The evening ended with a resounding applause from the guests. As the hairdressers and salon owners in the audience mingled socially over drinks and dinner, they had plenty of notes to exchange. It now remains to be seen how the market responds to the trends from Essential Looks 2018.
