The runway of the recently wrapped up Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018 left us with a potpourri of mane and make-up looks. So, take cues from the inspiring looks, and shine through this festive season!
Embracing colours
One of the major takeaways for the festive season are crease lines — they are back and how! As seen in the shows of Urvashi Joneja and EKA, the avant-garde crease lines were a strong element of this edition! One can definitely translate this trend into a more wearable way. The key to emulate is ‘keeping rest of the face neutral with a healthy glow.’
When it doubt, wing it out!
Coloured winged eyeliners are taking the runways the world over by storm. This look is getting some major love from MUAs across the globe. These coloured strokes could be your best festive interpretations — as presented in the shows of Kanika Goyal, Puchki and Shanti. Their runway look featured a beautiful teal green extended liner with contoured cheeks and muted lips. One can even consider haute hues like red, pink, white and green to keep up with the festive glitz. Vriksh by Gunjan Jain’s look on Day 2 also stood a classic example for a double winged eyeliner in the stunning shades of black and violet!
A rainbow of mascara
While deriving cues from Arpita Mehta’s show, load up your top and lower lashes with yellow mascara. Perhaps, one can also try shades like white, fuschia, hot pink, eclectic blue, lavender (our personal favourite though). Apply a couple of layers of coloured mascara, while balancing the look with a neutral lip stain. Leave the rest to bask in natural beauty. Let the colours on the lips and eyes take centrestage. Keeping it simple is sophistication.

Be it mesmerising matte or glossy satin finish, it was a fancy feast for the eyes that made us pay special attention to the pretty pouts. Case in point: Punit Balana, Nachiket Barve, Arvind Ampula, Payal Singhal and Yogesh Chaudhary showed us different variations of the lips shades . For Singhal’s show, models flaunted ombré lips.
