How beauty giants are helping fight the battle against COVID-19?

Companies globally have come forward and set up relief funds to help the people in need. Here is a list collated by Payal Upase of the conglomerates who have contributed to help the world fight against COVID-19

L’Oréal USA today announced a multi-faceted initiative to support Americans during the COVID-19 outbreak and recovery. This commitment is made in addition to L’Oréal’s Europe-wide Coronavirus Solidarity Program, which includes a one-million euro donation to non-profit organizations across Europe. 

  •  L’Oréal USA will donate $250,000 to the U.S. hunger relief organization Feeding America to provide emergency support for their COVID-19 Response Fund and help relieve food-insecure families across America. This is part of a company-wide giving campaign in which L’Oréal USA will match additional employee donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000.
  • L’Oréal’s production facilities will begin producing alcohol-based hand sanitizer this week to be provided free of charge to U.S. employees, partners, and healthcare professionals working on the frontlines of this emergency.
  • L’Oréal USA will make a donation of personal care products valued at more than $1 million, including cleansers and moisturizers, to the non-profit organization Feed the Children as part of its community-based emergency response to COVID-19.

L’Occitane en Provence
Clean the World has received 186,400 individual hygiene products, donated by the committed beauty brand, L’Occitane en Provence, including essential bars of soap for distribution to shelters across America. With over 500,000 homeless and thousands more needing government assistance, there is a large population without access to soap amidst the spreading Coronavirus. Toiletries are one of the most requested items at shelters where people are at greater risk of contracting hygiene related illnesses. 

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, L’Occitane en Provence has processed close to 1.5 million bars of soap that will be delivered in cities all over the United States. This week, shipments were sent to New York, Washington state, Louisiana, Missouri, and Florida. The donated 27,400 bars of soap will supply Clean the World’s recycled soap production and the thousands of donated hygiene supplies will be included in hygiene kits that will be dispersed immediately to shelters all over the country.

Avon has donated $2 million worth of personal care products such as soap, body wash and skincare products to Feed the Children to support these families in need during this unprecedented time. Avon’s partner, Feed the Children, works closely with community partners like schools, civic organizations and food banks to serve the most vulnerable populations and others who may be experiencing difficulty due to a job loss in this uncertain environment. 

Over the last sixteen years, Avon has donated over 15,000,000 pounds of personal care and beauty products, clothing, shoes and home essentials to Feed the Children for distribution to families in need.
