From Runway to Red Carpet: Looks to die for!

Make-up expert Natasha Nischol approves the best beauty looks from across the globe.

Fresh from the runways and red carpets, the Fall/Winter make-up trends are all about individuality and bold choices. These looks are out of the ordinary, risqué and give an empowering take on make-up. From playful graphic lines to no-rules glitter, the best way to get these trends right is simply to just OWN them.

While taking cues from the international runways, Natasha Nischol, Celebrity Make-up artist and Co-founder of fat mu academy in Mumbai, gives us a lowdown on the glam beauty looks for the season.

#1. Smoky Eyes 2.0: Forget the basic black smoky – this season is all about experimenting with colours, textures and shapes. Carolina Herrera’s show saw some gorgeous metallic steel blue smoky eyes that can work wonderfully for this festive season. Club that with a nude lip and you’re good to go!

Other variations include warm metallic bronzes and gold smokey eyes and for the extra adventurous ones; vibrant pastel smokey eyes! Take cues from the runway beauty looks of Jill Stuart Sirano, Pamella Roland, and so on.

#2. Glitter overload: Glitter intimidates the best of us. How does one wear glitter and not go over-the top? This season was all about revamping the use of glitter and the techniques could definitely be used by people for events and parties. Designers like Oscar de la Renta made use of finely milled glitter as a topcoat on seemingly basic eye looks. This is a sophisticated way of adding glamour to any look.

For a grungier look, one can always top a classic black smokey eye with loose glitter. This look is sure to turn heads!

#3. Playful graphic lines: Designers like Anna Sui and Dior took inspiration from the ’60s and had a rebellious vibe to them. Liners always seal a look and take your makeup to the next level. The key to a good graphic line is the right angle and the right attitude to carry it off.

#4. Red-hot lips: Red lips never go out of fashion. Year after year, a different finish, a different shade of red pops up at fashion weeks and never disappoints. The only thing to keep in mind is to find the right undertone of red that best suits your skin.

#5. Your skin but better: Moschino, Missoni, Badgley Mischka and many others kept the skin super fresh. Simplicity is fashionable. The trick to keeping it simple but chic is treating your skin well. Prep your skin well, keep it hydrated and prime your skin perfectly. Half your job is done right there! An easy alternative to other glamorous looks.
