LVMH, the parent company of Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Sephora etc is now all set to make sanitizers

Louis Vuitton, the luxury conglomerate announced on Sunday that its cosmetic and perfume factories will be manufacturing large quantities of sanitizers to fight Coronavirus. They will be using their facilities to make their own hand sanitizers during the shortage of the product.

The effect of COVID19 in France
The pandemic has led to product shortage in all the markets. With reported cases, more than 5423 and 127 deaths in France, LVMH’s sanitizer can be of huge help to the citizens. The group is said to be using three of its perfuming manufacturing units to make hydroalcoholic gels. LVMH produces perfumes for brands like Guerlain, Dior and Givenchy in these units. The group will produce 12 tons of disinfecting hand gels.

Free sanitizers!
The sanitizers will be provided free of charge to French authorities and the 39 hospital chains in Europe. The luxury brand’s decision of not making a profit at this moment is winning the internet and it will surely prove to be a breather in such a crisis. “These gels will be delivered free of charge to the health authorities,” LVMH added.

Current situation in France
France has currently shut down its restaurants, cafes and non-essential stores to combat the virus which has infected an estimated 165,000 people and led to more than 6,000 deaths worldwide. Governments across the world have urged manufacturers to assist them in making products that are in shortage amidst the virus outbreak.
