What will be the theme and focus of your sessions at MUW?

For the Make-up Week, I will be performing on two topics as follows:

Day 1: Colour of the year inspired look- Living Coral
This make-up look will complement 99% of the Indian skin tones. The colour palette used for eyes is bright coral with smoky element. Face is kept dewy and fresh for summer glow. Lip colour maintains the essence of Living Coral – a coral shade with golden undertones.

Day 2: The Bridal Makeover: Creating the Perfect Bride for 2019
In this session, I will be creating a Modern Day Bride, putting a contemporary spin on old traditions. The focus will be on shaping techniques for eyes and face to create a perfect look for Indian brides.

1. How are you preparing yourself for MUW?
Working as a global educator has helped me in building experience and understanding the requirements of make-up artists worldwide. Before any make-up event, workshop or a session, it takes a lot of preparation and strong research work to deliver the best. I am examining Indian make-up trends and formulating my own techniques that will work best for Indian market.

1. Apart from learning how to re-create the looks, what else would you like the audience to get from you?
I would love my audience to learn multi-faceted approach to break into the make-up industry. During make-up sessions, I would be focussing on easy and effective techniques in colour matching, corrections and enhancements on a face. Precision application would be a key learning aspect during my sessions.

Which are the popular make-up trends for Spring/Summer 2019 globally?
Spring/Summer make-up trends delve into a fresh look. The beauty trends are all about glowing skin and natural gleam. Glitter hasn’t let go of its grip on beauty. Meticulously blended eye shadows in jewel tones, shimmers and foil finishes are the major trends for eyes this year. Blush and coral-toned make-up will be seen round the year.

What do you think of the concept of MUW? How relevant is it for the contemporary make-up industry in India?
I feel the concept of MUW is good for all the make-up artists. Watching all the international brands under one roof will be enticing moment for everyone. Aside from stocking up your kits by visiting top make-up brands, one gets the opportunity to meet and greet the gurus and top make-up artists and learn new trends. Also, MUW will bring endless amount of inspiration for people who wish to be part of this industry.

What is your opinion of Indian make-up artists? What are their strong and weak points?
In my opinion, Indian make-up artists are the most versatile and creative minds. Within India, you can see varied make-up styles keeping in mind the diverse and rich culture of India. I feel the strongest point in an Indian make-up artist is the ability to work on different skin tones and choosing the product wisely according to different climatic conditions. Moreover, the ability to create varied make-up styles is another strong point.
