What is trending in nails for 2022?
According to me, the year 2022 is going to be all about shaded holographic effects and ombré. They are surely going to be an all-season hit. On the other hand, in terms of trendy nail art – Korean 3D nail art has taken over our Instagram feeds. It is serving to be one of the major nail art goals for 2022.
What are the major trends in bridal nails to watch out for this year?
When it comes to bridal nails, this year we are keeping it bling for the wedding edit. Primarily because brides love an all-shine, bling look. In terms of colours, I’ve noticed that shades of red and oxblood have become an all-time favourite for my clients.
What are your opinions on the Very Peri colour of the year and its relevance in nail art?
I think one simply cannot go wrong with shades of purple, especially with lilac and the colour of the year – Very Peri. When it comes to its relevance to nail art, this colour works best while creating ombré nail arts.
What are your plans for 2022 as a nail artist and educator?
This year, keeping the pandemic in mind, our focus is still a lot more on religiously following hygiene practises. We are making sure that all our team members are meant to attend workshops held by OPI India for educational purposes. In terms of upskilling, we are going to focus on introducing an international format of nail enhancement such as nail sculpting.
How has the Omicron variant affected client bookings?
Due to the mere nature of the omicron variant, clients are demanding home service in place of in-studio visits. This has proved to be a huge problem and has affected our client footfalls.
What advice would you give to aspiring nail artists?
Aspiring nail artists, remember that the world is your oyster. One can easily achieve recognition and success in the industry if you practice well and provide a good finish to the client.
