Make Up Week 2019 witnessed a gorgeous mermaid look in a live session by Strafford Braganza and Saloni Maathur of NYX Professional.
Fantasy as a theme is loved by all the make-up artists. It gives them the liberty to be creative and channel their inner vision to reality. Keeping this theme in mind, NYX Professional presented a mermaid look at the Make Up Week.
Ace of base
Starting it off from the face, Saloni used NYX total drop control foundation. By using NYX Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo, she added the glam quotient, which was required for the look. For blush, she opted for NYX Professional Makeup Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette, consisting of eight shades.
Using the NYX Perfect Filter Eye-shadow Palette, Saloni created a rainbow effect on the eyes.
At first muted lips were created by using the NYX Soft Matte Lip Crème in the pink shade. Later, to give it a shimmery effect some glitter was dabbed on to the lips.
Fine detailing is a must for a great look. To make this mermaid look more realistic, fish-like scales were drawn. A net was used as a stencil to create the impression of scales. These scales were drawn using the same eye shadow colours. The colours were lightly dabbed onto the skin using make-up brush through the net.
The entire look was put together with hand-made accessories, which included a headgear and a prop equipped by Saloni herself.
NYX Face Awards
While the look was in the making, Strafford Braganza made this session an interactive one by giving insights on NYX Face Awards.
NYX Face Awards is a competition, which consists of three phases. Phase one is the entry phase. Phase two includes the first challenge wherein top fifteen semi-finalists are selected. Phase three has the second challenge through, which six finalists are selected and then ultimately a winner is picked.
The winner of NYX Face Awards 2016, Shreya Jain was then invited on the stage to share her overall experience. This session concluded by giving the attendees a goodie bag filled with NYX products.
