Salon Management Congress Mumbai was an overwhelming success with a stellar speaker lineup and unique networking opportunities as well as the groundbreaking sessions on the emerging trends in the salon space.
Salon Management Congress was held alongside the Professional Beauty Expo with a gathering of over 80 delegates and 35 speakers. Day 1 was ‘bout in-depth sessions like auto-salon and product exclusivity, while Day 2 lineup featured the industry’s young entrepreneurs and trends, etc.
Embarking Day 2 of Salon Management Congress
The maiden session on Day 2 had Ryan D’Rozario, Salon-Director – MUAH Salon; Arpit Sharma, CEO – Seven Seas Spa; Shine Janarthanan, Director – Time Machine Beauty Solutions and Mallika Pirani, Proprietor and Director – Vannilla Salons on the panel. Each of them shared their stories of struggles during the one-hour session-tracking the young entrepreneurs/ professionals in the salon business. This was followed by a power-packed presentation delivered by Govind Shrikhande, Mentor, EX Customer Care Associate & Managing Director, Shoppers Stop Ltd. The guru shared the key insights and trends of the retail business alongside referring to the stats leading to the growth of the industry.
Striking the ideal balance
The discussion between Yashesh Bharwada, Director, Absolute Beauty Concepts and Vandana Bhardwaj, Spokesperson & Director, B2C Network (Marie Claire Salon & Wellness) catered to the ideal balance and approach when working with brands. From vendor to salon partner – they both had their own perspective on how brands and distributors must up their game for their clients. The day continued with another session on Talent – which is considered as one of the biggest challenges for salons. On the panel were – Natasha Naegamvala, Director – Nalini of Nalini & Yasmin Salon; Garima Jain, Head-Home Operations & Academy, ENRICH; Uday Takke, Director – Takke’s Institute of Hair & Skin and Manisha Chopra, Co-founder SeaSoul & KeraSoul Cosmeceuticals.
Attention to detail
Another session with well-known architects – Ashateet Saran, Design Lead – SA Studio and Viki Thakkar – Director & Owner, Viki Thakkar Design Studio – came up with the ABC of salon construction and design. They additionally talked about eco-initiatives adopted by the salons and encouraged the salon owners to practice the same.
To wellness and beyond
The final session of the Salon Management Congress was on authentic wellness and healing by Siddharth Sen Gupta, Founder – Samskrt Natural Wellbeing. He also revealed the future global trend of spas and the vision for the industry ahead. Salon Management Congress saw speakers and the audience engage in interactive discussions as well as sharing a wealth of information and mantras for success.
