Salon Congress Management, the two-day conference designed specifically for the salon sector opened its door for salon owners and discussed the challenges that the industry is facing and provided them with solutions as well
In the fifth edition this year, Salon Congress Management had the presence of over 80 delegates at Bombay Exhibition Centre on September 16-17. The objective of the event was to bring up engaging conversations on issues relevant to the Indian salon and beauty industry. Co-curated by Beaute Espace Pvt Ltd, helmed by Ritoo Jha and Professional Beauty India, Salon Management Congress delivered a meticulously curated content backed by power-packed panel discussions.
Mera Wala Salon
Day 1 began with an interesting conversation on ‘Mera Wala Salon – the art of creating strong profitable identities’- between Spoorthy Shetty, CEO- BBlunt; Kapil Sharma, Founder & Creative Director – Kapil’s Salon & Academy; Ojas Rajani, Celebrity Make-up Artist & Hairstylist & Founder – Ojas Rajani Hair & Makeup Academy; Istayak Ansari, Director-cofounder, Truefitt & Hill. The session presented an expert take on building a strong and sustainable identity. The solo session by CK Kumaravel, CEO, Naturals Salon & Spa focussed on showcasing the new trends for the industry. Alongside, he encapsulated his journey as an entrepreneur by sharing it with the audience.
Another session on ‘Developing a financial plan when opening your own salon’ was backed by Rahul Bhalchandra, CEO & Founder-Director – YLG India and Debojyoti Roy, President (Sales & Operations) – Kapil’s Salon & Academy. The duo brought their perspectives on how their organizations are achieving remarkable outcomes with a flexible financial plan.
Strengthening the pillars
This was followed by an interesting session on building and maintaining a booming team of professionals. Moderated by Pushkaraj Shenai, CEO – Lakmé Lever, the panel consisted of Chitralekha Balachandran, Head-People Connect – Enrich Salons; Vipul Chudasama, Director, Vipul Chudasama Salon & Academy; Avni Amlani – International Skin Expert and Consultant. Each of them shared their respective journey of building a strong culture in the salons and motivating and encouraging their staff to be at their best.
A products business
The impact of the product and brand mix on your salon was one of the most highlighted sessions, which had a stellar line of speakers – Geraldine Scheffermann, Global Educator – Dermalogica; Samir Srivastav, CEO – Jean-Claude Biguine Salon & Spa; Arpit Jain, Founder & Managing Director – Maison D’ Auraine; Rayed Merchant, Director – Beauty Palace & SSIZ International; Sukirti Patnaik, Founder & Managing Director – Indulge the Salon; Ritu Kolentine; International Make-up Artist & Cosmetologist. They shared the latest in terms of technology, brands, product exclusivity, and so on.
The day concluded with analysing the technology tools that are available for the salon business. The dais was shared by Rajsekhar Patnaik, Founder & CEO – Runo Technologies and Arpit Jain – who spoke about how the technology can enhance the customer experience.
