Winners of British Hairdressing Awards 2023

The results of the most hotly contested event in the hairdressing calendar, HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional were shared at a red-carpet ceremony on Monday 27th November held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.

HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional are the oscars of the hairdressing industry. The 39th year of the most prestigious hairdressing awards took place on 27th November 2023, Monday at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on London’s Park Lane. The event was not only attended by the stalwarts of the British hairdressing industry but also by prominent Indian experts like Aalim & Shano Hakim, Savio John Periera, Latha Mohan, Spoorthy Shetty, Srinivasan Subramani and others.

The British Hairdressing Awards (BHA’s) also known for celebrating the outstanding creative and technical skills of the best stylists in the industry, bestowned the most anticipated title on the night, HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year 2023 to Cos Sakkas, Creative Director and Head of Education, TONI&GUY for the 2nd consecutive year. Whereas, Antoinette Beenders, Aveda Senior Vice President and Aveda artist Jorge Cáncer, claimed the prestigious title of International Collection of the Year 2023.

Winners received a total of nineteen trophies in front of a 1400-strong audience of hairdressing peers, influencers and also press, alongside celebrity host, Katherine Ryan, further accompanied by Hairdressers Journal International’s Executive Director, Jayne Lewis-Orr and Julian Crane, General Manager for Henkel Consumer Brands Hair Professional UK & Ireland. 

Featuring ten regional categories, as well as nine specialist awards honouring work including Afro, Men’s, Session and Newcomer, entries are judged anonymously by over 100 leading hairdressers including celebrity stylists, session stylists, previous winners and also the Hall of Fame members.
