Dermalogica x Lakmē Salon launch the Luminfusion lift service with Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia, brand ambassador of Dermalogica, shares her skincare philosophy and secrets to radiant skin with Kanishka Ramchandani, at the launch of Dermalogica’s Luminfusion service at Lakmē Salon, Powai.

On a sunny afternoon, dressed in a smart white outfit, the gorgeous Neha Dhupia walked into the spacious Lakmē Salon at Powai. The occasion was the launch of the Dermalogica Luminfusion Lift Service. After a walkthrough in the salon, Dhupia, who has been the brand ambassador of Dermalogica, interacted with the Lakmē Salon team and customers.

In an exclusive interaction, Kanishka Ramchandani, Editor, Professional Beauty x Hairdressers Journal, shared an insightful conversation with Neha Dhupia; Vipul Chaturvedi, CEO and Whole Time Director, Lakmē Lever; Hinaa Khan, Head of Education, Dermalogica India; in the presence of Komal Puri, General Manager, Dermalogica India.

Excerpts from the interview:

Kanishka: What excites you most about being a part of the launch of the Luminfusion service?

Neha: I have been associated with Dermalogica for almost three years now. But I have been using its products for over two decades. I want everyone to know that there are no shortcuts in skincare. You have got to invest in it.

You need to understand what is good for you. Also, you need to study it. And more than anything else, this study happens between you and that one product you are planning on using.

The brand-new treatment, Luminfusion by Dermalogica, is a non-invasive facelift. And every word that I am saying about it is an exciting proposition. People talk about facelifts all the time but if it is invasive, they don’t want to do it. Luminfusion is non-invasive. That’s a big breakthrough when it comes to skincare.

Kanishka: How does professional skincare fit into your personal skincare routine, and why is it important to you?

Neha: When it comes to being invested in skincare, I feel that whatever you are doing, the edge comes only when you step into a salon, when you go meet a professional. There are no magic products that you apply at night and wake up looking amazing the next morning. You need routine skincare treatments as per what’s best suited for your skin. For me, treatments like the Dermalogica ProSkin 60 works very well.

I also know when the effects of the treatment are visible the most. I know that 48 hours after getting that treatment my skin is at its peak. So, assuming I need it to look amazing on a Wednesday, I invest that one hour or so in my skin on a Monday.

Do I go often? Yes, I do. Today I am in my 40s, and I go to a salon once every three or four weeks. But that’s how much I need. It’s an individual thing.

At home, you can try multiple things but without professional help or going to a salon, you can end up hurting your skin. So, step out, and get that professional help. It always makes a difference.

Kanishka: How do you prioritise skincare in your busy schedule, and what are your go-to tips for keeping your skin healthy and radiant?

Neha: One is, of course, moisturising. And I cannot harp enough about sunscreen. You just have to use a sunscreen all the time.

The maximum amount of skin degeneration happens either under the sun or when you’re stressed – mentally, physically or emotionally. Taking care of yourself is something you need to do. For everything else, there’s Dermalogica.

People may not believe it, but I don’t switch products too much. If something is working for you, don’t keep saying, let’s try this is a new thing that we’ve seen. Maybe if a new version of the product you are using comes up, you could try it.

Start your skincare journey young. Understand what works for you. Do less, but do it right.

Kanishka: Do you have any skincare tips or advice for brides-to-be who want to achieve a radiant glow on their big day?

Neha: Use a lot of undereye cream. Always helps! There’s going to be a lot of late nights and weddings in India are hectic. And even if you’re not getting married, even if you’re simply attending a wedding, use an undereye cream. Also, use lots of moisturiser.

As far as makeup is concerned, make sure you cleanse your skin at the end of the day. I use the Dermalogica pre-cleanse, followed by the cleanser and the Microfoliant, and finally use the moisturiser.

These important steps are not just for the brides, I’d say everyone should follow them.

After all, you don’t have to look after your skin just for that one day that you’re getting married. You want to have good skin all year round for every occasion.
