The Filmfare Awards saw some really inspirational looks on the red carpet this year. Adding glam and elegance to the occasion, we saw a blend of traditional, contemporary, and some experimental looks this year. Though minimalistic makeup, as it is trending globally, remained the popular pick, some other looks too caught the audience’s attention. Vidhi Arya from Professional Beauty India brings you some of the best from this year.
Alia Bhatt
The winner of the Best Actor (Female), Alia Bhatt wore a corset-saree gown by the designer Anamika Khanna. Pairing the beige-golden outfit with a diamond necklace, she kept her makeup natural and dewy, which is also a signature Alia Bhatt look. With neutral eyes and cheeks, she also chose a neutral gloss for her lips. The look was finished with a side-swept, naturally flowing long bob.
Tripti Dimri
Dimri defined the essence of balance with her look. Donning a heavily sequenced gown, she chose to let her hair flow in loose waves. Her makeup rightly balanced the glitz of the gown with all shades of neutrals. She further balanced her eyes which had a smokey effect on the outer corners with a neutral lip gloss.
Sara Ali Khan
Sara Ali Khan brought in a refreshing change to the natural makeup look with heavily kohled eyes. Her shimmery gown by label Jean-Louis Sabaji was flawlessly paired up with a sleek bun and popping black cat eyes. Her eyes had heavy kajal and liner on both her lower and upper lash lines. Khan balanced her bold eyes with matte brown lipstick and a flawless base.
Esha Gupta
Esha Gupta conveyed the best of Indian colours and elements on the red carpet. Her pinkish-red silk saree paired with green jewellery was a gorgeous rendition of the traditional Indian getup. She kept her look very crisp with a sleek bun, neutral pink cheeks and lips, and a classic winged eyeliner.
Karisma Kapoor
In a time when everyone is highly obsessed with neutrals, Karisma Kapoor showcased a pop of colour at the ceremony. Not just her Sabyasachi saree but also her makeup brought in a refreshing, catchy experimentation to the fore. She paired her multicoloured saree with a bluish-black cut crease liner and neutral lips.
Kareena Kapoor
Kareena truly looked quintessential in her red saree by the label Jadon. Kapoor opted for a loosely back swept bun with long earrings. Her makeup was a classic with a delicate balance between kohled eyes, neutral lips, and a shimmery, neutral eyeshadow.
Shefali Shah
With her look at Filmfare 2024, Shefali Shah stood testamentary to the famous quote, “Beauty lies in simplicity.” Breaking away from sequences and gowns, with a white saree, she opted for classic jhumkas and a loosely tied bun. She opted for an ethereal minimalistic makeup look that rightly sat well with the elegance of her saree.
