LUUM launched its next-gen AI lash extension robot and announced a national expansion with Nordstrom and Ulta Beauty, rolling out installations across key markets to scale faster, tech-enabled lash services nationwide. Read along to know more.
LUUM, Inc., the beauty-tech company known for developing the world’s first AI-powered lash extension robot, has introduced its next-generation system and outlined plans for national expansion with Nordstrom and Ulta Beauty by Q1 2026. The company will enter four major markets initially, with additional locations planned.
New lash robot cuts appointment time to 33 minutes
The updated LUUM robot includes technical improvements designed to increase speed, precision, and service capacity. The new system can apply lash extensions to both eyes at the same time, reducing the duration of a full-set appointment to about 33 minutes. This compares to the earlier 75-minute LUUM session and the longer duration required for manual lash extension methods.
The company states that the new system will enable lash artists to complete more sessions per day while maintaining safety and consistency. LUUM positions the robot as an assistive tool for artists rather than a replacement for human involvement.
Retail rollout across nordstrom and ulta beauty
Following the performance of its San Francisco Bay Area studios, LUUM will expand through commercial shop-in-shop formats at select Nordstrom and Ulta Beauty locations. The company will install its next-generation robots in six locations across California, New York, and Texas.
Planned sites include:
California
• Nordstrom, San Jose
• Nordstrom, Irvine
New York
• Nordstrom flagship, New York City
Texas
• Ulta Beauty, Flower Mound
• Ulta Beauty, Prestonwood
Additional markets are expected to be announced as LUUM scales its retail footprint.
Client access and service model
Appointments can be booked through the company’s website, www.luumlash.com. Pricing includes memberships and packages, with clients able to choose among three styles and two lash lengths. LUUM has reported positive customer responses since its launch within Ulta Beauty in 2023, completing thousands of sessions across its existing locations.
Expansion strategy and patent portfolio
LUUM holds 73 patents across 27 countries and has identified more than 1,000 potential expansion sites in the United States. The company’s long-term strategy focuses on expanding access to its Beauty Experience Automation model while supporting lash artists with technology designed to increase efficiency and service capacity.
