India’s most sought-after couturier, Manish Malhotra hosted India’s first-ever fashion soirée in Delhi. He showcased bridal looks at the event that was as dreamy as his creations.
‘Khaab’ best describes the latest bridal collection by ace couturier Manish Malhotra. As ethereal as a dream, the Khaab Bridal Soirée, hosted by the designer, was an evening of couture and cocktails. It was hosted at the eponymous Manish Malhotra flagship store in Delhi. The event marked nine years of the store. He showcased his bridal wear where craft and artistry dominated. Classic lines and contemporary touches underscored the make-up and hair.
Over the last three years, Malhotra has expanded his label to jewellery and beauty. This evolution was beautifully depicted in the Khaab Bridal Soirée. The highlight of the evening was actor Vaani Kapoor. She wore the showstopping ensemble, comprising a deconstructed asymmetrical lehenga with a striped organza trailing drape. An encrusted broad pearl band paired with the brand’s signature crossover stylised blouse was embellished in 3D crochet sequins.
The couture range exhibited at the soirée oscillated between the old-world regalia and the modern repertoire. The styles ranged from staid classic to new-age bridal and cocktail wear.
The founder’s eponymous Manish Malhotra luxury make-up by MyGlamm complemented the beauty of the looks. Make-up was minimalist with earthy tones for the eyes and nude ones for the lips. Slick-back hair in different variations of the classic ponytail added a contemporary edge to the look. Underplayed contouring and blended highlighter were the takeaways from the looks. The elegant hair and make-up echoed Malhotra’s regal creations.
