Naturals Beauty Academy – Torchbearer at Beauty Education in India

The beauty industry is growing at a warp speed in the country, and what comes along is a need for a steadfast focus on education and training. As the landscape changes and newer needs emerge, the institutes are gearing up to bring the best talents to the fore. And one such name remains Naturals Beauty Academy.

To further understand the growing landscape and changes in beauty education in India, we spoke to Allen John, Chief Operating Officer at Naturals and Naturals Beauty Academy. Let’s delve deeper as he takes us through the current Indian scenario and how Naturals Beauty Academy is taking note.

The Changing Landscape of Beauty Education in India

Indian beauty education is growing and competent. This progress is driven by several factors, including the increasing demand for skilled and certified beauty professionals, the expansion of retail outlets, innovative POS, and the rising awareness of personal grooming.

The desire to hire trained and certified individuals is a recent focus by a chain of salons that believe in offering quality services to their customers. Some salons have taken the initiative to introduce their heroes to customers addressing their skills, experience and certification.

Beauty education in India has evolved beyond basic training in hairdressing and beauty. Institutes now offer courses in areas such as skincare, cosmetology, spa therapies, hair styling, nail art, advanced therapies and much more.

Overall, beauty education in India plays a significant role in addressing the demand for skilled professionals in the thriving beauty and wellness industry, offering opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, skill development, and empowerment. However, efforts are needed to further standardise and regulate the sector to ensure quality education and enhance the credibility of beauty professionals in both domestic and international markets.

Bridging the Gap with Naturals Academy

At Naturals Beauty Academy, our curriculum is our major inspiration. It has been curated by our team of experts who have identified the trending formats and requirements in the industry. Our focus is to make the student ‘Industry Ready’ with an opportunity to work either at a Salon or spa, freelance, or with a cosmetic product needing a trainer or artist. With an additional recognition of trends in beauty, we develop hands-on training exclusively by renowned brand trainers and professional artists from the industry.

Once our students prepare for their examinations, our placement team works round the clock with the industry for staff requirements. We then design a placement program for all the students under multiple categories. This enables us to help bridge the gap between skilled and trained employees.

Integrating Sustainability and Ethical Practices to Meet the Current Need

We have been striving to create such practices within our team and to deliver the same to our students while learning. While designing our curriculum, we integrate sections that focus on sustainability, eco-friendly practices, and ethical sourcing. Topics could include products with sustainable ingredient sourcing, green chemistry, waste reduction techniques, and ethical considerations in the usage of cruelty-free products in training. We also encourage students to become advocates for sustainable beauty practices by participating in industry forums, conferences, and discussions.

Recently, we have partnered with Starstruck by Sunny Leone, a brand that develops products with such practices.

Moving Towards a Digital India with Naturals Beauty Academy

The Indian industry has already advanced through online formats of deliverance. These are usually only ‘know-how’ techniques for professionals. For amateurs, this could be a challenge while performing on the ground, hence a professional learning format is the need of the hour to help beauty education get delivered through proper formats and design.

We are currently working on the ability to deliver classes through digital platforms since beauty education is a skill-based education and requires hands-on training. At Naturals Beauty Academy, we are parallelly working on alternatives that could engage students in a hybrid culture so that they do not miss out on the practical knowledge essential in the curriculum format.

With Naturals Beauty Academy as the Academy Partner, Professional Beauty India is all set to come to Bengaluru on the 26th and 27th Feb, 2024 at Princess Shrine Palace between 9 am to 6 pm. Register here.
