New Hopes for Beauty Training with a New Academy in Indore

Indore, known for its educational institutions, is set to make a significant leap in wellness and beauty training as a new academy is under process. This project, costing INR 25 crores, aims to provide degree courses to professionals in the beauty and wellness industry.

The Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) has accepted the proposal to set up this academy. This initiative aims to provide extensive training in cosmetology and other wellness-related fields. The government has granted land spreading across 10 acres for the university along with a grant of INR 25 crore in phase one of the development.

The academy will offer a three-year degree course. The focus will be on providing practical and theoretical knowledge in various aspects of the beauty and wellness industry. The courses will cover aspects, such as wig-making, production, cosmetology, etc.  Students will receive hands-on training in the discipline, guided by international industry experts. The academy will prepare the students for a range of careers in the beauty and wellness sectors. The courses will fall under the science and arts streams and a new educational policy will regulate them.

Market Growth and Opportunities

At present, Indore has over 7,000 parlours, 200 of which are premium. The beauty market has been growing at a rapid pace, with an annual growth rate of 20%. And, as per estimates, the industry did a business of over 60 crores last year. This sector employs a significant number of professionals, and the demand for trained and skilled individuals is constantly increasing. The new academy in Indore aims to produce well-trained professionals who can meet this growing demand.

Financial Support for Students

The aspiring professionals who undertake courses in this academy will be able to avail of loans for their professional growth. A loan of up to INR 1 crore will be available to set up manufacturing units. Also, a loan of INR 25,000 – INR 20 Lakhs to open up parlours and salons.
