A Smile And A Natural Glow Are All You Need This Wedding Season

The bridal makeup trends are constantly changing. Gauri D, spoke to the make-up artist in the USA to gauge what are the in-trends this wedding season.

Brene Poland

The makeup artist, Brene Poland caters to her clients’ makeup requirements with an exclusive cosmetic range of products. This product range is called – The perfect face. An apt name for a cosmetic line, one would say. But that is not the only fascinating aspect, this line is exclusively used at the Miss America and Miss Universe pageants.

What woman doesn’t want to be a part of this legacy? While introducing the make-up range, we discussed the changing beauty trends and what are the ‘IN’ looks for this wedding season.

Fresh as a Daisy

From red lips and winged tips of the 50s to the jewelled glow of the 80s, make-up trends have evolved over the decades. Often the geo-political overlay is noticed in the beauty industry and 2023 is the age of drastic change and technological revolution. But, it is also the age of sustainable development and that has been reflected in the make-up trends.

During the discussion, Brene says, “The illusion of make-up would be an apt term to define the latest trend.” Be it a themed wedding where the bride and the bridesmaids are perfectly coordinated or a party look, au-natural makeup is what the women are seeking. While glam and glitter make a special appearance at evening parties, the day look preference remains a fresh and natural glow. The rising awareness about the environment plays a role in this trend. Not to say that the looks complement perfectly with the warming weather of spring-summer time.

The Perfect Face

The bridal look might be natural, but there are still many efforts that go into making a look effortless. Brene prefers using ‘The Perfect Face’ products for her clients as they are suitable for all skin types. A product that suits every skin type and looks perfect even at beauty pageants is nothing short of sustainable and revolutionary.

The product tagline states ‘Be natural, be beautiful, be you’. It is an empowering campaign that calls on natural beauty and boosts confidence. It speaks to the modern woman, encouraging her to roar and let the world see her fierce beauty.

Creating an illusion

As aforementioned, attaining the natural look can be quite challenging. It is simple to transform a look, it is however a delicate balance to enhance the natural beauty to perfection. The make-up artist shares her tips on what and how to do it best.

Lock in that moisture

A simple step that most of us ignore is moisturizing. Every make-up artist, cosmetologist, and dermatologist will tell you the same thing. It is important to keep the skin hydrated to protect it from within. Pollution, sunlight, dust, and other foreign influences all cause the skin to wear and tear. However, moisturized skin can cope and heal better. Therefore, irrespective of a complete overdo or a simple workday look, moisturizing should never be taken lightly.

Primer all the way

When it comes to creating a natural look with a complete makeover, primer is every girl’s best friend. A good primer is an absolute beauty essential. It prevents the makeup from entering skin pores while maintaining the makeup for long durations. Rihanna’s makeup artist for the MET Gala revealed her secret for a perfect lipstick appearance, and that was primer!

It is perhaps the beauty industry’s best-kept secret.

The little black line of beauty

From delicate black lines to frame the eye to nailing a perfect wing, eyeliner is a minimalistic yet impactful tool in every make-up kit. A little eyeliner touch-up and it’s a go time from work to party!

When in doubt, blush!

Who can resist a blushing beauty? In the constantly changing trends, blush has made one hell of a comeback from the late 80s and early 90s. Slightly blushed high cheeks and forehead highlights are to die for! Peachy pinks, rosy reds, and flirty maroons are all in this wedding season and when in doubt, going with a little blush never goes wrong.

Perfect red lipstick never fails to make a statement, but this summer, it’s the nudes and light tones that soothe the eye that will take a few breaths away!
