The Unrecognisable Makeup Trend: What’s The Hype

Social media is always brimming with trends, breaking boundaries and bringing us something new to try on. This time around, it’s the unrecognisable makeup trend. Wondering what it’s all about? Let Vidhi Arya from Professional Beauty India shed some light on it for you.

We all love makeup for its ability to transform us with a whole new vibe. But, how about when makeup transforms you into a whole new person? That’s what this trend can do! The unrecognisable makeup is the latest trend that is taking social media by storm. With bold and dramatic elements, this trend can make you look like a completely different person. Pushing all boundaries, this trend inspires makeup enthusiasts to ditch their regular routine, step out of their comfort zone, and play around with makeup. It’s indeed a beautiful play of curiosity and experimentation.

In the past few years, the makeup scene has been pushing out clean, minimal aesthetics. This is much different. With loads of contour, blush, dramatic eyes, and different lip shades, this makeup requires you to go all in as a maximalist. In fact, this is a trend that will remind you of the 2010s. You remember the times when heavy, very apparent makeup was a thing!

How Can You Give This a Try?

If you’re a professional makeup artist or an enthusiast, this trend can be a lot of fun for you. The basic idea is simple – this makeup should be very different from what the person looks like without makeup.

Roll up your sleeves and think about your craft and tricks. You can try and change the shape of the lips and eyes. Or, use contour and blush to your benefit and change the way the face shape appears.

Some elements that are surely worth a try are contoured nose and cheekbones. This will help alter how the face shape appears; nailing the unrecognisable part of the trend. Also, as you know, even the way you apply blush can help it. Next are lips overlined with a pencil liner to make them appear fuller. Another thing worth trying is to change how the brows appear – you can make them look a lot more fuller by filling them in.

The highlight, however, is the eyes. Use a liquid liner for bold, big wings that make the eyes look entirely different.

Worth a Try?

In my opinion, it’s a great trend to hop on to for all the scope of experimentation it provides. More often than not, we get so tied up with the regularities of work that we forget to be creative beyond it. Though closely related to a MUA’s job, this trend allows you to forget about the norms and embrace the joy that lies in creativity. Also, a chance at all the thrill that comes from breaking the rules with your own craft.

So, worth a try or not? You decide.
