Professional Beauty India was privileged to be part of the second edition of VC Open House, featuring global icon Angelo Seminara. It was two immersive days of creativity, collaboration, and inspiration. Priyanka Parshurami caught up in a candid interview with Angelo Seminara, International Celebrity Hairdresser, Creative Director of Kemøn and Vipul Chudasama, Director & Founder, VC Academy on how open house by global icon is shaping industry dialogue.
The second edition of the VC Open House concluded on April 6, 2026, in Mumbai, marking a pivotal moment for the Indian hairdressing industry. Featuring global icon Angelo Seminara, the immersive two-day gathering brought together leading artists, educators, and industry voices for an exchange rooted in creativity and collaboration.
More than just an event, the open house by global icon signalled a shift towards dialogue-led learning. With the presence of industry stalwarts such as Aalim Hakim, Seema V Jerajani, Savion John Perirera, Binaifer Pardiwala, Kanta Motwani, Asha Hariharan, Raman Bhardwaj, Avan Contractor, and Adhuna Bhabani, and others, the platform created a rare convergence of top-tier talent, reinforcing India’s growing influence in the global hair narrative.
A New Format for Industry Exchange
Vipul Chudasama shared the vision behind the initiative. Having spent over two decades in hairdressing and nearly a decade in education, he identified a critical gap at the top tier of the industry.
“There was always strong education for beginners and mid-level professionals, but very little for top talent to come together, exchange ideas, and think beyond commercial work,” he explained
The Open House was conceptualised as an intellectual and creative forum, an intimate space for dialogue, perspective-sharing, and artistic exploration. Looking ahead, Vipul envisions scaling the platform to accommodate larger audiences, potentially bringing global icons to inspire thousands at once.
Education Beyond Access
From a global standpoint, Angelo Seminara emphasised how accessibility has transformed professional education. “Today, learning is faster and more accessible, but real investment in structured education remains essential,” he noted.
He highlighted the importance of foundational knowledge, urging professionals to build strong technical and historical understanding before navigating advanced or brand-led education systems.
Inspiring Confidence Through Dialogue
For Angelo, forums like these play a critical role in shaping the mindset. “You are feeding them with information, excitement, history, and future possibilities. Inspiration is key—if I am inspired, I can inspire others,” he shared.
The emphasis, he added, lies in enabling professionals to see beyond routine work and explore the broader creative and commercial potential of their craft.
Navigating a Competitive Landscape
Addressing the evolving industry, Angelo pointed to digital media as both an opportunity and a challenge. While it offers unprecedented visibility, he cautioned against over-dependence. “Use digital media well—don’t let it use you,” he advised, underlining the importance of strategic engagement and skill-driven growth.
The VC Open House stands as more than a gathering; it represents a progressive shift in how the industry learns, collaborates, and evolves. By bridging global expertise with local talent, the open house by global icon sets a precedent for future-ready education.
As the platform scales, it has the potential to redefine how Indian hairdressers engage with global standards, driven not just by technique, but by mindset, dialogue, and vision.
