Wella Passionista Placid Braganza gives actor Shivaleeka a gorgeous makeover for the Kromatic 2.0 Collection

#CaramelBrown was the colour trend of choice for Wella Passionista Placid Braganza, Owner, Placid Salon, as he designed a ‘glamorous’ look for actress Shivaleeka Oberoi.

Wella Passionista Placid Braganza, Owner, Placid Salon, created a customised look using the #CaramelBrown trend on the Khuda Hafiz star Shivaleeka Oberoi, who wanted a ‘chic and ‘glamorous’ look.

This look is part of the Wella Professionals Kromatic 2.0 collection, which is being rolled out to stylists across India. Placid will join Team Wella on a multi-city tour to teach stylists and colourists the techniques and step-by-step process to recreate this look.

Placid has used cool brown and blonde hues from Koleston Perfect to create this look for Shivaleeka. The look combines classic highlights with the right amount of pop, giving the beautiful actress an effortlessly glam look.

To allay Shivaleeka’s worry about damage, Placid also used Wellaplex to help reconstruct hair bonds for stronger hair.

What does being a Wella Passionista mean to you?

Being a Wella Passionista comprises a combination of inspirations. Wella Passionistas is a global community that allows a lot of exchange of ideas and brainstorming between artists. It’s all about great minds connecting together and creating something that inspires other hairstylists and for that matter, customers as well. Both professionals and the customers relate with what we create as Passionistas. Moreover, imparting education is a key element that comes with being a Wella Passionista. Through our multi-city tours, we help stylists understand the step-by-step process that is involved in creating each look from the Kromatic 2.0 Collection, and inspire them to bring out their own interpretations.

How has the experience of working on the Kromatic 2.0 Collection been for you?

My experience of working on the Kromatic 2.0 collection has been nothing short of excellent! And it’s been this way since each year brings with itself a different set of challenges. I say challenges because we try to do something different each year so that it’s fresh and new. We work with influencers and celebrities and draw up ideas inspired by who they are as individuals. The idea is to create a new look for them but at the same time to come up with a look that vibes with their personality, and doesn’t take them out of their comfort zone. The collection is different from Kromatic as it pushes the entire idea of Kromatic even further, by taking head on common stigmas or worries people have with hair color. We connected with Shivaleeka to understand her and what she wanted. The final look that we created for her is completely in accordance with her gorgeous and chic personality. Each year, this collection keeps getting better because it’s far more personalized and we try to bring in a little bit of an education element as well, for the stylists when we roll out these collections.

What was the inspiration for the #CaramelBrown look that you created for Shivaleeka?

When we decide to get our hair coloured, the first fear that comes to mind is hair damage. Through my initial discussions with Shivaleeka, we agreed upon brown as her colour. I was initally leaning towards matte. I then decided to add the caramel tone for a hint of glamour and shine. That’s how she is! She has a high glam quotient. But I wanted her to enjoy the glamour that came with her new look without worrying about hair damage. So, I combined this color with a Wellaplex service to protect her hair from damage. I also educated her about the service. Eventually when the collection is rolled out to hairstylists, this factor is going to be the key. You need to know your colors well, your consultation and hair analysis should be bang on and you need to inform your customers how they can best take care of their hair and color through services and at home

How did you ensure that this look suits her skin tone and face structure?

Shivaleeka has beautiful hair with great texture and volume. I added #CaramelBrown to Shivaleeka’s hair and kept it focused on caramel tones. The look was created with Koleston Perfect using cool brown and blonde hues. With this balance I’ve managed to create classic highlights to meet the right amount of pop. The idea was to not have too much of it but to keep it more like a peekaboo kind of colour. It almost looks like a money piece, but it is not a money piece.

What advice would you like to give to colorists and stylists, especially about personalizing these looks?

With Shivaleeka’s look, the main educational point is the right use of the color palette. You need to understand the personality of your customer, the placement of colors, analyse the shape of the face as well as the head. You need to understand how you will use the same palette and placement techniques for different types of hair and face/head structures. You can recreate this look on a variety of different customers because each time you will get a different skin tone, different hair type, different hair length, etc. Through our workshops, we intend to educate hairstylists with the skill of using one standard technique and personalising it for each new client.
