Coty Inc. has joined forces with House of Beauty. This is a significant move to solidify its standing in the burgeoning Indian beauty market. They unveiled plans to enhance its Prestige and Consumer Beauty business segments in India with this association. Substantial investments underpin the company’s ambitious expansion. This included the appointment of Rizwan Mulla as the Business Development Director, in India. After the strategic collaboration, the company established a new team and office in Mumbai. 

Coty, eyeing a prominent role in India’s $16.5 billion beauty industry, strategically selected Rizwan Mulla to lead the Coty India team. Mulla has over 25 years of expertise in operational management and marketing. He plans to leverage his track record in maximizing revenue streams and business value. Highlighting Coty’s enduring commitment to India, Mulla’s responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities, refining operations, and cultivating partnerships across the nation. 

WINNING TEAM

Mulla and his team will concentrate on nurturing key customer relationships and driving brand and omni-retail excellence across the Prestige and Consumer Beauty divisions. The team comprises business development and e-commerce managers. 

Kristina Strunz, Managing Director, Coty Southeast Asia and India, expressed excitement about the company’s strategic investment in India. Over the last five years, India’s beauty sector has experienced remarkable growth. Increased internet access, rising incomes, and a growing population of skincare-conscious young consumers drive it. Coty’s strategic approach aligns with this dynamic market, aiming for sustained growth in both luxury and everyday beauty segments.

GROWTH IN INDIAN MARKET

India is a key distribution market in Asia and has warmly embraced Coty’s prestige brands. In the financial year 2023, Coty India experienced a remarkable +65% growth. Upcoming fragrance releases, blockbuster campaigns, and brand launches are expected to continue supporting this upward trajectory.

THE BIG COLLABORATION

In a pivotal development, Coty announced a distribution partnership with House of Beauty. This partnership was marked by a signing ceremony in Mumbai. This collaboration includes the launch of Kylie Cosmetics in India, tapping into the growing demand for Prestige Beauty. The agreement aims to engage and inspire millions of Kylie Jenner fans across the country through a retail marketing program.

Strunz expressed pride in partnering with House of Beauty and the anticipation of launching Kylie Cosmetics. This move aligns with the modern shopper’s international outlook, emphasizing kindness, authenticity, and quality.

Shriti Malhotra, Group CEO, of Quest Retail, House of Beauty, shared her excitement about this partnership. He emphasized House of Beauty’s success in building and scaling premium global beauty brands. Together with Coty, they aim to accelerate the rise of premium beauty in South Asia. They plan to do this by making Kylie Cosmetics a shining success in India.
