India’s national talent hunt for professional hairdressers, Streax Professional Time of India, Indian Hairstyle Icon is here. The Indian hairdresser community gears up to be part to win India Hairstyle Icon 2023.
Streax Professional, in association with Times of India, launched India Hairstyle Icon (IHI), the national talent hunt competition for professional hairdressers. It is a distinctive hair competition that allows hair stylists to showcase their talent on a national platform.
Through this national talent hunt competition, IHI aims at providing a platform for Indian hairdressers to showcase their talent and build expertise by helping hairstylists & artists reach their highest potential in a neutral and impartial way. And the winner of IHI 2022 was Amit Tonk, a hairdresser from Imphal, Manipur, India.
This year IHI kick starts from June 2023 with first semi-finals in Aamchi Mumbai from 20th June, followed by North Semi-finals in Delhi on 7th July, then moves down south to Bangeluru on 25th July and last semi-finals are in Kolkata on 22nd August 2023 for East and North-East region.
And the grand finale i.e the winners of India Hairstyle Icon 2023 will be announced at the Bombay Times Fashion Week in Oct 2023 at St. Regis, Mumbai.
The categories of India Hairstyle Icon awards are:
- Female Commercial cut & colour
- Female creative colour
- Men’s creative cut & colour
The finalists will be trained under industry experts and international celebrity stylists. They include Savio John Pereira, Vipul Chudasama and Yolly Ten Koppel, along with technical experts from Streax Professional.
Each zone will have 3 zonal winners and 3 zonal runners up. The zonal winners qualify as a finalist and can win prizes as per the Winners of the Grand Finale. The Zonal runners up will get INR 40,000/- each and a certificate of winning.
The prize includes INR 5,00,000, a trip to the OMC Awards in Paris and an annual contract with Streax Professional. The winner will also get a profiling story with The Times of India, certificate of winning and the Golden Trophy.
The first runner-up prize is INR 2,50,000. It also includes a profiling story with The Times of India, certificate of winning and the Silver Trophy.
The 2nd Runner Up wins cash prize worth INR 1,50,000, profiling story with The Times of India, certificate of winning.
The remaining 9 finalists stand a chance to win INR 75,000 cash prize each, profiling story with The Times of India, certificate of winning.
