INLAMOBI Partners with Taiwan Beauty Valley for Sustainable Cosmetics

India’s cosmetics and beauty industry is taking another step towards sustainable innovation, with INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster Pvt. Ltd. joining hands with Taiwan Beauty Valley (Taiwan Ligu Industry Innovation Alliance) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The partnership aims to establish a framework for cooperation between Taiwan’s established cosmetics industry and India’s emerging ecosystem for natural ingredients, cosmetics and sustainable bio-based industries.

The MoU was signed by Vijay Koumar, Managing Director of INLAMOBI Blue Valley Cluster Pvt. Ltd., and Li Lin-yuan, President of Taiwan Beauty Valley, during the alliance’s 10th Anniversary Celebration and International Beauty Summit. The event was held on October 30, 2026, at the IEAT Convention Centre in Taipei.

Focus on Sustainable Ingredients and Cosmetic Innovation

The collaboration seeks to bring together Taiwan’s expertise in beauty technology, product development and manufacturing with India’s biodiversity-based resources and scientific capabilities.

A key focus will be exploring opportunities across the cosmetics value chain, from ingredient sourcing and research to formulation, manufacturing and commercialisation.

Under the MoU, the two organisations intend to explore collaboration in:

  • Cosmetic formulation and product development: Joint exploration of new formulations, ingredient analysis and product innovation.
  • Natural and botanical ingredients: Sustainable sourcing, processing and value addition of botanical extracts, essential oils and other natural ingredients.
  • Research and development: Scientific research and knowledge exchange to support ingredient development and innovation.
  • Manufacturing and production: Opportunities for pilot production, packaging, manufacturing partnerships and commercial scale-up.
  • Infrastructure and processing: Potential access to shared infrastructure and service centres at Assam’s Blue Valley Cluster, subject to availability and approvals.
  • Market access: Business matchmaking, distribution partnerships, industry networking and opportunities to enter domestic and international markets.

The partnership also places emphasis on responsible sourcing, resource efficiency, supporting local enterprises and developing biodiversity-linked livelihoods.

Assam’s Biodiversity Meets Taiwan’s Beauty Technology

At the heart of the collaboration is INLAMOBI’s Blue Valley Cluster in Assam, an emerging industrial and innovation ecosystem designed to connect Northeast India’s biodiversity and natural resources with scientific research, sustainable processing, manufacturing and international markets.

The cluster aims to strengthen value chains across several industries, including:

  • Cosmetics and personal care
  • Fragrances and flavours
  • Botanical ingredients
  • Other bio-based industries

By bringing together local raw-material producers, enterprises, technology providers, research institutions and international companies, the initiative aims to create a more integrated ecosystem for sustainable industrial development.

Taiwan Beauty Valley, founded in 2016 in Tainan, Taiwan, brings a strong industry network to the partnership. It has more than 120 members across Taiwan’s beauty and cosmetics ecosystem, including businesses, public institutions, academic organisations, research bodies and medical institutions.

As a founding member of the Global Cosmetics Cluster, the alliance works to encourage industry collaboration, technological innovation and international engagement.

Building Stronger India-Taiwan Industry Connections

The MoU also reflects growing economic engagement between India and Taiwan, particularly across technology, manufacturing, trade and sustainable development.

Assam and Northeast India could play an important role in strengthening these connections, given their biodiversity, agricultural resources, entrepreneurial ecosystem and emerging industrial infrastructure.

By combining Taiwan’s technological and manufacturing capabilities with India’s natural ingredient resources, the collaboration aims to create opportunities for knowledge exchange, sustainable ingredient development and cross-border business partnerships.

While the MoU establishes a framework for cooperation, specific projects and commercial activities will depend on operational readiness, available resources, regulatory requirements and separate agreements between the parties.

The partnership could offer a promising foundation for connecting India’s natural resources with global beauty innovation, particularly as the cosmetics industry continues to explore more responsible sourcing, sustainable manufacturing and science-led product development.
