Savio John Pereira opened the day with Back to the Future. Next, Virender Verma and Najeeb Ur Rehman presented Next-Gen Hair: Modern Cuts & Effortless Styling for Vega Professional.

Modern Barber Challenge
Day 2 of the Modern Barber Challenge kept the competitive energy high. Two rounds of Express Fade were followed by Creative Scissors and Hair Tattoo categories, testing a wider range of barbering skills.
The day opened with back-to-back Express Fade rounds. Each round combined a focused 20-minute competition window with prep and judging. Creative Scissors followed next. This scissors-only category allowed no clippers, though texturising and feather razors were permitted, with trimmers reserved strictly for clean-up. As a result, the emphasis stayed firmly on scissor skills, structure, and traditional technique over a 45-minute round.
The day closed with Hair Tattoo, giving competitors 45 minutes to showcase precision design work.
Categories were judged by Prathamesh, Dodo, Tom, and JJ for Express Fade; Tom, JJ, Jay, and Wajid for Creative Scissors; and Milan, Jay, Vinu, and Wazid for Hair Tattoo.
Skillathon
Skillathon continued on Day 2. This time, participants were assessed across Makeup and Nail Art categories, testing creativity and precision in equal measure.
The Day 2 jury comprised Mahima Gandhi Grover, Proprietor of MG Makeup Studio & Academy; Jody Jones, Key Account Manager – Hair & Beauty at VTCT; and Sanjay Thakkar of Sanjay’s Bridal Makeover.
Skillathon & Modern Barber Awards
Day 2 also brought the show to a celebratory close with two dedicated awards evenings at the HJ Stage. First, the Skillathon Awards, presented by LTA School of Beauty in partnership with Professional Beauty, honoured creativity, innovation, and excellence across the beauty and wellness community. The ceremony recognised the standout talent that had competed through the Skillathon.
The Modern Barber Awards followed in the same spirit. This ceremony celebrated excellence within the beauty and barbering industry, marking a fitting finale to the Modern Barber Challenge held earlier in the day.
Both ceremonies took place on 1st September from 6:00 pm onwards. Together, they brought competitors, brands, and industry leaders together for an evening dedicated to recognising the skill and artistry on display throughout PBI Mumbai 2026.
A Show-Stopping Finale
Business conversations, creative showcases, technical skill, and competitive energy all ran through the final day. As a result, Day 2 of PBI Mumbai 2026 brought the show to a fitting close.
