The Hues of Vibrant Hair Colours

Professional Beauty India took up the challenge of giving the ‘Young Guns’ of the beauty industry a platform to showcase their talent. Here’s a quick sneak peek into the hair colour portfolio of Somita Saha Iyer, International Colourist – to understand how they are driving the industry forward.

Vivid hues are outside the realm of traditional hair colour. They have earned many names – fantasy, fun, fashion, rainbow, unicorn or mermaid. These hair colours range from deep jewel tones to vibrant neons and soft pastels. Bright hair dye is typically semi-permanent but with recent technology, some come as permanent, too. Due to their short lifespan, they can last anywhere from 1 to 10+ washes. Vivid and pastel need more frequent touch-ups than usual hues.

Hair Colour Where Purple-meets-Pink

Cerie Flatter is a unique mix of purple and red tones that creates a multi-coloured highlight effect. It can range from dark and inky to light and bright. A magenta shade hair colour works for dark and blonde long, medium or short hair. It flatters both dark and fair skin tones and suits all Indian skin perfectly.

Not so Gilt’y Gift of Vibrant Hair Colour

Amber Gilt is a less-vivid red hue with golden undertones like bronze and gold. It falls on the warmer side of red shades since its base colours include yellow, orange and gold. Copper suits pretty much every skin tone.

Airtouched Balayage

In the Mute Blonde Airtouch Balayage, backcombing is used to create a seamless blend of colour. AirTouch is not only a faster and safer alternative to original balayage or ombre hair – it provides better results, too. Balayage hair is relatively low maintenance because it doesn’t touch your roots. Once applied, the hair colour will remain in your hair, without frequent follow-up visits to the salon.
