Bombay Times Fashion week staged the vibrant and stunning collection called ‘Reverie’ by ace fashion designer Ken Fern on Day 1 of the event. Here’s a glimpse of the stunning collection along with inspiration behind the looks and styles by Ikonic Professional.
Ken Fern is an Indian fashion designer who started his career in 2012 as a custom designer for the celebrity reality shows on TV. He launched his first label collection in 2021 at India Resort Fashion Week in Goa. From then onwards, he has launched his collections at various shows like Lakmé Fashion Week India, Luxury Style Week In Bangalore, India Runway Week in Delhi, North Eastern Fashion Week in Guwahati and India Beach Fashion Week 2023 in Goa.

And amidst the glitz and glamor, Ken revealed his latest collection Reverie at Bombay Times Fashion Week 2023 yesterday at St. Regis Mumbai. Speaking to Professional Beauty India about his collection, Ken said, “Reverie means Day Dream. And my dreams are not black and white but very colourful. Hence you will see my collections are always colourful, vibrant and full of energy.”

He further added, “All the collections are an extension of me. And as I am the person full of life, zest and enthusiasm, my couture also reflects that style with a lot of colours, flowing fabrics and prints.
But beauty and fashion are co-related to each other and as famously said ‘ Fashion starts with Hair as what you wear starts with your hair’. Hence we caught up with the stylist and Makeup artist from Ikonic Professional and Proarte to get an insight into the hair and makeup for the collection.
Makeup Look For The Reverie Collection:
Cherag Bambboat, Creative Director, says, “Ken’s collection is full of freshness, energy, happiness, cheerfulness, as a result, we are working with multiple dimensions of makeup, some of which are ones which we can enhance, in a stronger way. But keeping it mute and not over the top.”
“For eyes, we are using a pop out look with neon accentuated corners and blocking the centre of the eye with bright yellow colour. And for the rest of the look we are keeping it soft ultra glam so that it does not clash with the eye look.”
Styling For The Collection:
“The entire collection is very poppy, a little funky, and it’s a little more than classy. Hence creating a style which is a mix of class and colour. The collection also features a lot of textures and is dynamic in nature. Hence we have created men’s hair keeping in mind the texture element,” says Vivek Shyam Bhatia, Creative Stylist, Ikonic Professional.
He further adds, “We have used elements like waves, curls, textures. In a few cases the sides are buzzed up, but the top is slightly textured somewhere. It is slightly clean, but again, not very dull, clean. We’ve kept it very glossy and clean. For example, while styling Stephen, we tried keeping his look sleek and simple as he has a classy personality. Also his hair is thicker and denser as a result there was a lot of room to play around.”
Says Florain Hurels, Artistic Ambassador states, “the inspiration behind creating the hair look for female models was to align with the collection which is colourful, fun, classy and vibrant. Hence we decided to go give a sleek and simple hair look which will perfectly compliment the collection.”
When asked Ken about his collaboration with Ikonic Professional for his new collection launch, says he, “When curating my collection I always want the best for the same. Hence collaborating with Ikonic Professional for hair and Proarte for Make-up are the best aspects of the collection launch. Also I feel the great team makes the mountain moves. Hence for the best 360 degree output for my collection, I thought of connecting with Ikonic Professional and Proarte.”
