SNAP INDIA 2025

PB India is proud to present the SNAP! India competition. Hairdressers and makeup artists of any skill level, anywhere in South Asia are welcome to submit just ONE picture of their best work.
All you need to do is simply take a single image and upload via our entry form. Your image must be shot on a smartphone or digital camera against a plain background and entries must be strictly #nofilter and no editing. Did we say in the meeting that we might want an additional photo to support the one look?
CATEGORIES
The looks created for any of the following categories should have been created within 6 months before the date of submission.
HAIR
Long – Showcase a cut on long hair that you have done in the last 6 months with proper technique and finishing.
Commercial: Show off a wearable colour look that reflects current colour trends.
Creative: Love creating out-of-the-world looks with colour? This category is for you. Showcase a creative colour look that showcases your artistry.
Bridal: A minimal romantic bun or an elaborate updo – what does bridal hairstyle mean to you? Share a bridal hairstyle that you find timeless and inspiring.
Fashion: Imagine you are styling for the runway. Be creative, be inspired and share a picture of a fashion hairstyle.
Share cut, colour or styling for curly hair.
This category is for barbers and we are looking for the image that captures your best work, demonstrating the latest commercial barbering trends.
BEAUTY
Showcase your best bridal makeup look that is bound to inspire others.
Fashion makeup that channels the top trends from 2025 – share your best fashion look.
SFX, casualty makeup, supernatural effects, sci-fi, animalistic – the sky’s the limit to explore your creativity in prosthetic makeup. Your best work can make its way to the top of this category.
Guidelines for model, clothing, accessories and photography
Choice of model
✅ Select a model whose features enhance your work.
✅ Ensure the model’s skin, hair and facial structure complement the category.
✅ Obtain the model’s signed consent for photography and competition use.
❌ Avoid models with heavy pre-existing styling (e.g., chemically treated hair for a colour category).
❌ Do not use wigs, extensions or false hair.
Clothing guidelines
✅ Choose neutral, solid-coloured clothing to keep the focus on hair/makeup, except bridal.
✅ Opt for clothing that complements the overall aesthetic without overpowering it.
✅ For bridal categories, simple wedding-inspired attire is encouraged.
✅ Ensure no visible logos, brand names or distracting patterns.
❌ Avoid clothing that clashes with the hair/makeup or distracts the eye.
❌ No elaborate costumes unless required for prosthetic makeup or fashion categories.
Accessories
✅ Minimal accessories that enhance but don’t overshadow the work.
✅ Elegant earrings or hair jewellery for bridal categories (but should not overpower the hairstyle).
✅ No distracting jewellery, sunglasses or unnecessary props.
Photography guidelines
✅ Use a plain, neutral background (white, grey or beige) for a professional look.
✅ Ensure good lighting (natural daylight or a soft ring light works best).
✅ Capture a sharp, high-resolution image with good focus on details.
✅ Take multiple shots and choose the one that best represents your work.
✅ Frame the model well (shoulders up for makeup, full hair focus for hairstyling).
❌ Avoid low-light or overexposed images.
❌ No filters, excessive shadows or distracting backgrounds.
❌ No visible watermarks or text overlays.
❌ Do not crop the image in a way that cuts off crucial details.
