Tantouring, once done, lasts for days. Yes, you read that right!
Tantouring takes all the application techniques of contouring and adds the goodness of self-tanning products to the mix. The idea is to apply the tanning products to the areas you wish to sculpt. It gives the shadow effect, which in turn provides a sculpted look. The healthy glow that comes with a natural look has been keeping beauty fans hooked on to this trend.
Product selection
Self-tanning products are notorious, if not selected with great care. Make sure you select the right tanning solution, suitable to your skin tone. There is a wide array of products available in the market to select from. Take a tester and make sure the colour suits your natural tone.
Perfect your Tantouring Technique
It is important to prep your skin before exposing it to self-tanning solutions. Keep your skin well-moisturised and hydrated a week before you opt for a tantouring session. Fake tan works the best when the skin is hydrated.
- Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser.
- Exfoliate the skin to remove all the dirt and debris from the pores.
- Apply a good tanning serum. It gives a naturally bronze look and provides skin with moisturising.
- Now, use a darker tan to contour your face.
- Select the right brush or blender to gain a refined look.
- Apply tanning agent carefully under the cheekbones, on the sides of the nose, and across the jawline to get a perfectly sculpted look.
- Sweep the forehead lines carefully avoiding the hairline.
- You can also provide a touch to the collarbone and over the chest to get an enhanced look.
- Allow the blended tanning solutions to set for about two hours before thoroughly rinsing it off.
The beautiful look lasts for a minimum of three days or more depending on environmental exposure. You can keep it going by reapplying the solutions every three days with mild exfoliation between sessions.
