The luxury Italian Salon chain, Luca Piattelli, owned by hairstylist Luca Piattelli recently opened its doors to the Indian consumers with its first flagship store. Nestled in the Sardarjung neighbourhoods in New Delhi, the salon offers an extensive range of services for men and women. From nails and hair to skin and spa, the salon offers a peaceful sanctuary of beauty and wellness inspired by Italian opulence.
With a legacy spanning over 28 years, Luca Piattelli is renowned for his artistic flair and innovative approach to hairstyling. Trained from the prestigious Vidal Sassoon School he holds several esteemed accolades, such as the ‘Hairdresser of the Year’ and ‘Global Salon Business Awards’ by UCLA University in California. Piatelli also partakes in high-fashion shows in Milan and displays his creative flair at occasions such as the Fashion Week.
The Interiors and Offerings
As one enters the salon, through an arched staircase and the curves of a glass façade, they’re first greeted with a lounge area with luxe sofas and an in-house café. The muted colour palette, fine furniture, striking fixtures, and immaculate designs, all exude Italian finesse. Pateilli and Satva Living Designs, led by Yamini Kothari shared a vision to offer a sense of tranquility and indulgence while redefining extravagance.
The salon features a barber shop, hairdressing stations, and manicure and pedicure chairs. Furthermore, it boasts a jacuzzi, a spa, as well as a scented sauna. It also holds a retail display with top-notch brands, including products from Luca Piattelli as well. A Mercedes-Maybach car is also on standby to pick up and drop off customers from a seven-kilometre radius.
Luca Piattelli also holds a training facility to equip the staff with valuable knowledge in the beauty and hair segment. Francesca Tozzi, Art Director at Luca Piattelli Luxury India, from Italy, trains and educates the staff on the Italian way of hairstyling and dressing.

We asked Piattelli the motivation behind bringing the much-appreciated chain to India. Expressing his enthusiasm for this new chapter, he said, “We are in India because here, the people appreciate the Italian luxe of styling. We decided to open up in India with a vision to bring a different method of hair styling to the people. Clubbing our years of expertise with Indian hospitality, we wish to create unique styles for the specific needs of the men and women here.
There is a study on the morphological forms of the head and the body by the great artist Leonardo da Vinci. He’s an Italian star who has done a lot of study in the harmony of the body. It is an extremely crucial concept for us and everything we do here is to create a look that’s harmonious with the person’s face, lifestyle, and choices.”
Commenting on the difference he noticed in hairstyling in India and his vision for his chain here, he stated, “In Europe, especially in Italy, women want their hair simple with lesser volume. But here, in India, the women like a lot of volume and texture. That is a major difference I see here. I aim to bring a new philosophy of style to the Indian women, something that’s more global and internationally acclaimed, specifically something that brings a touch of Italian luxury to the men and women of India.”
