Anuradha Gupta from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu was recently crowned Mrs. World International 2024. As Gupta achieved this momentous milestone, she took us through her journey in a candid conversation with Vidhi Arya from Professional Beauty India.
The Mrs World International 2024 competition saw the participation of 168 women from diverse backgrounds. The event brought together women who are not just beautiful, but also accomplished in their respective fields. Emerging as a winner, Anuradha Gupta was crowned the Mrs World International 2024.
At the age of 19, after winning the Miss Smile contest, Gupta found love with Sanjay Gupta and chose to focus on her family and other passions. After years, her participation in the pageant came as a spontaneous decision, owing to her love for fashion and modelling.
Taking a leap towards her dreams, Gupta registered for the event in January. Thereafter, began her dedicated preparations for the crown. Gupta says, “I had till March to prepare for the audition, where I physically worked out a lot. Since I’m a big-built person, I felt the need to lose weight and be more toned, though that was not the criteria. I had a personal trainer and a nutritionist. Also, I went for a two-week Ayurveda retreat that helped me cleanse my gut because that’s where it all starts. I also took special care of my face and the skin; a lot more than I did before.”
She added, “I meditate anyway. I journal a lot every day. Meditation was sporadic but journaling was every day. So mentally there was a lot of self-talk about how I can do it and should go for it. That was most of what I did to prepare for it.”
At the pageant, Anuradha’s interaction with fellow contestants highlighted the camaraderie and mutual respect that defined the competition. She exclaims, “It’s a very encouraging experience and a wonderful place to be at. I have no words to describe it. The whole experience, for me, changed the definition of beauty. It reminded me of the intrinsic value that inner beauty holds. Now, I no longer look at beauty just as what lies on the outside, but inside. Also, I’m so thankful to the organisers of Mrs. World International and the lady herself, Mrs. Barkha Nandia, who is such a force to be reckoned with.”
Anuradha’s victory at Mrs World International 2024 is a milestone that marks the beginning of new opportunities and platforms where she can inspire and empower others. Her story encourages women to pursue their dreams irrespective of the challenges they face. Leaving a message for all those who dare to dream big, she says, “It’s never too late, so don’t stop dreaming, don’t stop wanting things for your life. I feel that we really need to push ourselves if we want something for ourselves. Get out of your comfort zone. Do something that is totally against your grain. Putting myself out there was something that I rarely did. And, now this is something that I did and it surprised me as well. Put yourself out there, you never know what’s going to happen.
