No one does red carpet better than the queen, Zendaya. When a Spider-Man movie premiere is in the air, we know who is going to serve her method-dressing looks, crisp from the oven. We decoded her looks with Chris Grimley, Textured Hair Specialist & Owner of Fusion Hair Co & Texture Curl Academy, and we absolutely cannot stop talking about her hair.

Zendaya sported a custom Matières Fécales gown at the New York City premiere of the Odyssey and her hair looked every bit angelic. The look embraces movement and volume rather than an ultra-sleek finish, working gorgeously with her natural texture to enhance it, rather than flatten it. The long plait feels intentionally pulled out at parts, creating a romantic finish and the noticeable lift around the crown and face gives the style an ethereal, almost halo-like finish. “It is important to use hydrating products for this style to keep the texture reflective and soft without weighing it down”, comments Chris Grimley.
Keeping her curls natural, Zendaya flaunted a shorter look at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in London. The soft, separated bangs made an impact while still feeling wearable, and although the look is polished, the strategically placed fly-aways and feathered edges make the look feel not too done yet not too tardy. The transition from the fringe into the longer layers prevents the look from feeling bulky and allows the hair to move naturally.
Taking to the carpet for Spider-Man again, Zendaya embraced her texture instead of crossing swords with it. “What many people may call frizz, I would call controlled texture”, says Chris. Rather than crisp, controlled curls, the hair had a diffused quality, feeling effortless and reminiscent of second or third day curls. Rather than looking overworked, the hair feels romantic and modern, showing that controlled texture can elevate a red-carpet look
