The month of April kicked off with a wave of April Fools’ pranks and fun on April 1! And the beauty industry wasn’t far behind, rolling out campaigns that felt like a dream come true. But as they say—if it feels too good to be true, it probably is. So, Vidhi Arya brings you some clever April Fools campaigns by brands.

If it’s April 1st, chances are you’re not believing much of what you see, and rightly so. After all, it’s a day full of playful fun and harmless mischief. Every year, brands make the most of the day with campaigns that feel like every consumer’s dream. But while we sit back and hope for such products to be real, the brands are just kidding! Here’s a roundup of some April Fools’ campaigns by brands that left us either hoping or in splits.

The Airbrow by Dyson

Probably the most loved campaign of all was the Airbrow by Dyson. The product was supposedly designed for sculpt the user’s eyebrows with “precision airflow”.

The brand took to Instagram to announce the product. The model is gliding the product on her eyebrows to achieve the perfect shape and arches. Won’t that be every makeup enthusiast’s favourite tool?

Dyson said, “Say hello to Dyson Airbrow – the brow-raising multi-styler ✨. Inspired by the iconic Dyson Airwrap™ and miniaturised to shape, sculpt and set beautiful brows with precision airflow. Say hello to Dyson Airbrow – the brow-raising multi-styler ✨,”

The Fresh Kiss Glossy Lip Balm in Dill Pickle Flavour by ColourPop

Could you imagine wearing a lip balm in a pickle flavour? Could you imagine the heat and tanginess it will leave you with? Well, ColourPop did imagine it and announced the balm on April Fools.

The brand described the launch as “bringy, tangy, and crunchy” balm that leaves a sheer green tint. ColourPop also said that it provides intense shine and hydration.

Moisturising Sauce by Raising Cane’s X IPSY

American fast food chain Raising Cane’s and beauty subscription company IPSY came together to announce the Moisturising Sauce. The best part? They roped in Nicki Minaj for the prank too.

In the video, the singer is gushing about and applying the moisturising sauce that apparently “smells like chicken.” That’s not it, you will also find her stealing a taste of the same.

Reserve Beard Elixir by 1924 Wines’ Limited

This April 1, men’s grooming just got an unexpected twist with 1924 Wines’ Limited-Reserve Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sauvignon-Infused Beard Elixir.

As per the brand, the elixir has the natural goodness of 1924 Wines’ grapes. And the best part? This beard elixir promises visible results overnight — giving you that effortlessly suave, George Clooney-style charm in just 24 hours.

Clear Foundation by MAC

Last year, around the same time, MAC announced the clear foundation. Let that settle in – clear foundation! That’s taking no-makeup look too seriously! The brand said, “Clearly, we have news for you. Meet NEW #MACStudioFix in shade Crystal Clear! The same 24-hour matte coverage you love…now in a transparent tint.”
