Beauty Garage announces a Rs 10 crore investment plan for FY25, with aggressive expansion into men’s grooming, hair colour, D2C, and manufacturing. The brand is aiming for Rs 100 crore revenue while eyeing global markets and acquisitions.
Beauty Garage started its journey with five SKUs in 2019 and today, it offers over 90 SKUs. Now, the brand has a bold expansion plan for the current fiscal year. The professional haircare brand Beauty Garage has announced a Rs 10 crore investment to diversify its portfolio and boost manufacturing capacity. The brand aims to tap into new segments, including men’s grooming and hair colour, while also exploring acquisitions in the D2C space.
New Launches in Men’s Grooming and Hair Colour
Beauty Garage plans to foray into the men’s grooming segment in June 2025 with the launch of 20 new SKUs. The brand will follow this up by entering the hair colour market in September. In this segment, the brand plans to roll out 30 SKUs. A total of Rs 3.25 crore has been allocated to these two verticals: Rs 1.25 crore for men’s grooming and Rs 2 crore for hair colour.
Strengthening D2C and Acquisitions
In a move to strengthen its digital footprint, Beauty Garage is also investing Rs 1.5 crore to launch 60 SKUs in the D2C space. The brand recently acquired GoFab for Rs 8 crore and is in advanced negotiations to acquire an established D2C colour cosmetics brand. This acquisition, expected to conclude by September, will involve an additional investment of Rs 30 crore towards the brand’s purchase and expansion.
Manufacturing Capacity Expansion
Beauty Garage moved from importing from different countries in its initial phase to in-house manufacturing in 2023. Its current facility in Mumbai spans 4,500 sq.ft and produces four lakh units monthly. The brand is currently running operations at 80 per cent capacity. It plans to invest Rs 4 crore to scale production to 10 lakh units per month over the next two months. This expansion is likely to suffice for the next three years. A Rs 50–60 crore investment is planned to build a 25,000 sq.ft facility in Maharashtra within the next 4-5 years.
Targeting Rs 100 Crore Revenue and Global Expansion
Beauty Garage currently offers 90 SKUs and serves over 7,000 salons across India. It works with a network of 120 distributors and 50 educators. Offline channels contribute 90 per cent of the brand’s revenue. The other 10 per cent comes from online channels. However, it plans to shift the ratio to 85:15 in favour of digital by the end of the fiscal year.
The bootstrapped company closed the last fiscal with Rs 65 crore in revenue. It expects to hit Rs 100 crore this year, with a 50-60% increase in salon acquisitions. It is also exploring export opportunities in Southeast Asia and Europe as part of its long-term growth strategy.
