Digital Detox is a key to wellness in the modern world.

Many countries across the world are encouraging digital detox to promote wellbeing. Embarking on that journey, The World Digital Detox Day Organisation has announced the theme for 2023. They aim to create awareness around digital detox and its importance.
The World Digital Detox Day Organization has revealed this year’s theme. The theme for 2023 will be “Reviving the Art of Personal Connection.” Under this theme, WDDD, along with over 60 global ambassadors from various countries are embarking on a mission to create awareness about the importance of digital detox. Countries like Dubai, Germany, South Korea, United Kingdom, Pakistan, Thailand, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, Spain amongst others will be a part of this project.

OBJECTIVES OF WDDD

WDDD encourages everyone to write a postcard letter with a wellness digital detox message to their respective country’s Prime Minister. This initiative aims to achieve two significant goals:

  • To rekindle the personal touch of handwritten letters to loved ones
  • To urge each country’s leader to prioritize “digital detox” awareness at a national level

The participation of ambassadors from 60 countries promises this year’s theme to be a dynamic and impactful campaign. December 10th is considered the World Digital Detox Day every year. It inspires people worldwide to disconnect from technology and reconnect with friends and loved ones in person. The participants are also encouraged to take the WDDD Oath together.

EARLY ESTABLISHMENT AND IMPACT

World Digital Detox Day was established in June 2016 in India. Since its inception, it has evolved into an international movement. The organization has spent seven years promoting digital wellness and balance. It is now in its third year as an international initiative. Their programs include Digital Detox Education. It is educating the youth about importance of device-free time for mental health and well-being. Moreover, the foundation has provided opportunities for women working in the wellness industry. It has resulted in creating a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children. WDDD encourages people through various programs, expert talks, webinars, and counseling services provided by experts worldwide.

World Digital Detox Day in 2023 aims to reinvigorate meaningful in-person connections that have become increasingly rare in our tech-centric world. Handwritten letters will be sent to Prime Ministers worldwide to create an impact. It symbolizes a commitment to more personal communication.

VISION OF AN EXPERT FOR WORLD DIGITAL DETOX DAY

Dr. Rekha Chaudhari is the visionary founder of the World Digital Detox Day Organisation. She speaks passionately when talking about the importance of this organisation. She states, “Our lives have become slaves to the digital world, constantly browsing, binge-watching, and seeking validation on social media. This has led to a unique epidemic of digital addiction. World Digital Detox Day offers an opportunity for people around the world to strengthen their personal relationships by dedicating time to connect in person, free from the distractions of devices.”

The recently concluded Global Ambassadors Meeting on October 30-31 united digital wellness advocates across the world. Experts from around 60 countries reinforced and shared their commitment to promoting reduced tech usage. All spoke about fostering in-person social interactions, setting the stage for a remarkable 2023 event.

CALL FOR WELLNESS

All the participating wellness ambassadors and Dr Chaudhari invites everyone saying, “Join us on this inspiring journey towards digital wellness and make a profound impact on your own life and the lives of those around you. Together, let us celebrate World Digital Detox Day and focus on our well-being and personal connections.”
