Dermalogica India concluded the fourth edition of its coveted competition for skin therapists – Dermalogica PROSkin Masters 2023. Priyanka Parshurami, interacts with the winners to know their secret winning formulas for the competition.
The 4th edition of Dermalogica PROSkin Masters 2023 hosted 13 on-ground finalists after 3 online editions. Mr. Aurelian Lis, Global CEO, Dermalogica, was present at the event to crown the winner(s). Along with Jury members Vaishali K Shah – Founder & Director of LTA School of Beauty, Prajakta Paranjape- CIDESCO International Examiner and Dr. Madhuri Agarwal – Founder & Medical director of Yavana Aesthetic Clinic.
In a nail-biting grand finale Christina Rodrigues and Ashwini Kondare took home the joint-title of the ‘Best Skin Therapist of India 2023’. Along with Alpana Lepcha from Envi Salon and Spa being the runner up.
The closely contested finale was indeed a display of passion, skills and talent. Amid a live audience, the 13 contestants delivered personalized 60-minute treatments to introduced consumers in Dermalogica PROSkin Masters. They were judged on their understanding of skin concerns, consultation, service delivery and retail recommendations.
On that note, speaking on the occasion, Pushkaraj Shenai, Head, Unilever PROBeauty, said, “PROSkin Masters is our humble attempt. To celebrate “skin treatment expertise” in India. It was a privilege to have nearly 2000 talented experts showcase their expertise and learn through the entire process. Also, a big congrats to Ashwini from Looks Salon and Christina from Lakme Salon who walked away with the top spot. And the international Dermalogica training programme and to every participant who will come back to wrest the crown next year!”.
Says Ashwini Kondare, Skin Therapist, Look Salon, “I feel really happy, because I never thought that it would happen. I have followed all the norms and procedures. The ones taught to me from day one of my training like extraction, massage steps, product.”
She further added, “One important tip I would like to share with the skin therapist aspiring to participate in the PROSkin Masters competition is please follow the protocols for the competition and then victory is all yours.”
The event focuses on the brand’s three key pillars – education, personalization and human touch – highlighting its core values. The competition tests therapists’ expertise, celebrating their transformative impact on customers’ lives. “Skin care and therapies is like our SIP investments, where consistency is of utmost importance. Hence, the preparations for being a good skin therapist has to be a continuous process and not just a few months closer to the competition. So, the experts who are preparing to participate in PROSkin Masters please start reading and understand the different skin types and treatment suitable for them”, says Hemangi Sagar, National Creative Director-Skin Therapist, Lakme Salon.
She continues, “Participants should follow all the rules and also deeply remember about the contraindication and ingredients of the products.”
