EDT has entered the beauty-tech space with the launch of SUKI, a hair dryer engineered specifically for Indian hair. Positioned as India’s first Care-Dryer™, SUKI brings together beauty, technology and hair care, with its technology designed around the specific needs and challenges of Indian hair.
Indian hair can be coarser, denser and more porous, while also being exposed to humidity, hard water, pollution and heat. SUKI has been developed to address these realities, moving beyond the traditional focus on speed, power and heat.
Care built into the drying ritual
At the heart of SUKI is EDT’s patent-pending Care-Dry™ Algorithm, which moves through a sequence of temperatures as the hair dries.
The algorithm:
- Never exceeds 70°C
- Adjusts heat as hair dries
- Combines responsive heat with intelligent airflow
- Uses plasma ions
- Finishes with a cool shot
The idea is to make one of the most frequent sources of heat exposure in a hair routine more responsive and care-led, without adding another step to the consumer’s routine.
Tested on Indian hair
EDT says SUKI has undergone laboratory testing on Indian hair against a fixed-heat hair dryer. According to the brand, testing showed:
- 100 per cent hair strength maintained after 12 wash cycles
- 11.8 times more damage protection after 24 wash cycles
- 6.7 times less frizz
- 2.3 times more natural shine from the first wash cycle
“Every time you pick up a hair dryer, there’s a quiet question: am I damaging my hair?” says Naiyya Saggi, Co-Founder & CEO, EDT.
“When we spoke to over 100 people before building SUKI, almost everyone told us the same thing. They wanted to dry their hair without hurting it, and many had stopped using dryers altogether because they felt it was never built for them or never worked for their hair type.”
She adds, “Most dryers were simply never built for Indian hair. With SUKI, we intelligently programmed our algorithm for Indian hair and we’ve brought care into the drying ritual itself. Because hair care shouldn’t stop when a hair dryer starts.”

- AirSense™: Dual sensors read airflow temperature 100 times a second and automatically calibrate heat.
- 70°C heat limit: The Care-Dry™ Algorithm never exceeds 70°C.

- Automatic self-cleaning: Built-in functionality designed to simplify maintenance.

Care is paired with a high-performance motor designed for efficient everyday drying.
