Schwarzkopf Professional recently launched their Essential Looks Collection 2023 in multi-city events across Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Delhi. Their lead stylists Deepak Jalhan and Vaishakhi Haria along with Bony Sasidharan deep dived into haircut and Color trends for 2023.

Essential looks is a trend-based educational tool, curating the latest movements in hair and Fashion. Kickstarting it by unravelling three key global trends- Virtual Eden, Selfhood and Misfits, Essential Looks reveals these trends that dictate everything- from the catwalk to the High Street.

Here’s a quick insight into the three Essential Looks Trends to watch out for 2023:

Virtual Enden:

Bony Sasidharan, Creative Head, Schwarzkopf Professional curated the Virtual Eden Look for the brand collection. Inspired by Elysian Fields, a futuristic trend, Bony wanted to ensure there is lot of fluidity and movement with extremely long hair. Hence we used long flowing hair and silhouette-hugging garments.

Says Bony, “Essential looks are all about trend prediction.and not just hairdresser’s creation. There’s a lot of research, there’s a lot of story that goes behind that. So it’s actually a presentation of trends which a hairdresser can translate into more commercial looks for their salon. So they have a new look for their trendy customers.”

The Misfits:

Deepak Jalan, Creative Director, Looks Prive and Meister, Hair Artists Kollective, Schwarzkopf Professional curated the Misfits collection for the brand. He wanted to create a look which is out of box, with textures and edginess. But at the same time a commercial looks at what Indians can wear on streets.

Says Deepak, “Through these essential looks collections we are the first ones to set a benchmark for fellow hairdressers and stylists, so at least they can come and show their creativity and artistic correctness.”

Selfhood:

Vaishakhi Haria, Creative Head and Director, Splash Salon and Meister, Hair Artists Kollective, Schwarzkopf Professional curated the Selfhood Collection for the brand. The collection is all about being wearable, convenient, comfortable. As today’s GenZ’s look for simple, doable, easy flowing and wearable fashion and cuts.

Hence Selfhood expresses the undone textures and youthful optimism which are a window into the new generation and their carefree pursuit of protopian living, where it’s more about progress rather than perfection.

Additionally, Vaishakhi says, “Through Essential Looks, we display our love for hair craft, which unites the hairdressing community and drives us for a better and brighter future.”
