Different festive nail arts to try this year.

Nothing speaks of elegance like well-manicured, pretty-looking nails. Where you put in so much effort getting your outfits, hair, and makeup looking perfect, don’t let your nails take a back seat. With the onset of November, India gears up for a festive quarter, with an array of festivities lined up. And, this time around, we’ve got your nail art covered with an option for everyone.

Though well-kempt nails are a must-have, it is some creative nail art that can get heads turning and curiosities rising. Creativity knows no bounds and that being said, it gives us a plethora of nail art options that we can try in these upcoming months. In a candid conversation with Vidhi Arya, Nail artist and founder of Keerti’s Nailbox Nail Academy, Mumbai, Keerti Joshi tells us how there’s a festive nail art for every preference.

Suggest a nail art for those who are very experimental.

Indian Nail Art and Lace French Tips by Keerti Joshi

With the Diwali festival around the corner, October to December are festive months in India, and it calls for bright, colourful, shiny outfits. I believe no look is complete without thoughtfully done makeup and nails. This is the perfect time to experiment with nail art.

One option could be adding some jazz and breaking away from classy French tips. We can do this by opting for coloured French tips or lace art on the free edge. We can pick colours that will contrast with the outfit and gain attention. This nail art easily converts a classy white French tip into a colourful one. For the lace art, you can choose two different colours, and draw rosy lace on a coloured chrome tip. I would personally give more emphasis on glitter and chromes here because the nail art is for the Festival of Lights.

Another option I would suggest is to draw traditional prints like Warli, Kalamkari or other Indian dye prints on nails. These nail arts are really unique and always turn heads. These are especially great for this time as they depict our culture and tradition and give aesthetic feels with bright, warm neon festive colours.

Can you tell us about nail art that would be perfect for those who like it simple but still want to look festive?

For anyone who likes to keep things toned down, chromes are a great option. A silver or gold chrome effect on pink or wine-coloured nails is perfect to complement the festive attires. You can team this up with Korean art on your ring finger to add an oomph to your festive season. The Korean nail art adds fun to your simple nail art with 3D elements that pop up and look eye-catching. This classy yet trendy look is perfect for all those who want to keep it simple. And, yet it will add a hint of creativity and uniqueness to their nails.

Korean and Aquarelle Nail Art by Keerti Joshi

One look that’s trending that people can try this season?

Aquarelle art on nails is the recent wave in the nail industry. Aquarelle art is a subtle transparent natural-looking print drawn on one accent nail with watercolours for that translucent and trendy look. This looks really elegant and anyone can effortlessly carry it off with grace.
