India boasts a vast pool of talent when it comes to hair stylists! However, access to national platforms and advanced skill-building remains a challenge. With an aim to bridge this gap, Godrej Professional has launched Spotlight.
Spotlight offers a national stage to hair stylists this initiative aims to recognise three talented stylists and give wings to their professional aspirations with a funding of upto INR 5 lakhs. Furthering the aim of this initiative, Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) is supporting Godrej Professional Spotlight as the Industry Trade Partner. Additionally, Professional Beauty Hairdressers Journal India is supporting Spotlight as a Trade Media Partner.
The Spotlight will shortlist 30 hair stylists from all the entries it receives from across the nation. These 30 lucky shortlists will fly to Mumbai for the Godrej Professional Spotlight grand finale in December. Finally, at the finale, the finalists will be showcasing their final curated looks at a grand hair show.
The jury for the Spotlight includes industry experts such as celebrity stylist Yianni Tsapatori, (Creative Director – Hair, Godrej Professional); Monica Bahl (CEO of Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council); and Kanishka Ramchandani (Editor, Professional Beauty Hairdressers Journal India).
What’s In Store For Winners
The winner of Spotlight will receive funding worth INR 5 lakh and a chance to work with a celebrity. The runner-up and second runner-up will receive INR 2.5 lakh as well as INR 1.5 lakh, respectively.
Godrej Professional has joined forces with the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), an NCVET-certified awarding body under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, to upskill 30 selected hairstylists through its Godrej Professional Spotlight initiative. These hairstylists will undergo specialized training and receive certification from B&WSSC.
The 30 shortlisted hairstylists will also participate in exclusive masterclasses led by Yianni Tsapatori, Creative Director – Hair, Godrej Professional, along with Godrej Professional Spotlight mentors Shailesh Moolya, National Technical Head, and Najeeb-Ur-Rehman, Technical Ambassador for Godrej Professional.

Hairstylists can qualify for the Godrej Professional Spotlight by creating innovative and original hair colour looks inspired by Godrej Professional’s Surreal Collection — India’s first hair colour range inspired by some of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders. The collection features four unique shades: Moffee Marvel, Tangerine Dream, Roselet Bliss, and Moonlit Mist, each reflecting a distinct natural phenomenon.
