The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed definitive agreements to acquire a 51% stake in Sparsh Infratech Private Limited, the owning company of luxury wellness brand Atmantan. Located in Mulshi near Pune. Atmantan is a renowned holistic health destination known for its integrated and science-backed wellness philosophy. The acquisition gives IHCL full ownership of the Atmantan brand and its intellectual property. This marks a strategic step in strengthening its presence in the fast-growing wellness segment.
Strategic move to diversify hospitality offerings
This investment aligns with IHCL’s long-term vision of expanding beyond traditional hospitality into high-demand experiential and wellness-driven offerings. Consumer preferences are shifting toward preventive healthcare, lifestyle wellness, and immersive retreats. Hence, IHCL aims to leverage Atmantan’s proven expertise to scale wellness experiences across select domestic and international properties within its portfolio.
Atmantan: A wellness destination with holistic roots
Nikhil Kapur and Sharmilee Kapur founded Atmantan in 2015. It derives its name from the Sanskrit words Atma (spirit), Mana (mind), and Tann (body). This reflects its core philosophy of holistic healing. Spread across 36 acres overlooking Mulshi Lake and the Sahyadri hills, the 97-key Atmantan Wellness Centre offers structured, results-focused programs rooted in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Counselling, Coaching, and Functional Fitness. These programs address key wellness goals such as stress management, detoxification, weight loss, and preventive healthcare.
Scaling a proven wellness model
Atmantan’s success has made it a benchmark for modern wellness hospitality that blends Indian traditions with scientific validation. Through its integration, the brand is expected to evolve into a scalable model for luxury wellness retreats globally. Hospitality brands are increasingly diversifying into wellness, sustainability, and experiential travel to meet rising consumer demand. IHCL’s move highlights this broader industry trend.
