In an EXCLUSIVE tete-a-tete with Priyanka Parshurami, the Kryolan Professional leadership team, Mr. Wolfram Langer, Director, Kryolan Professional, Manish Jha, CEO, Kryolan India, Klaudia Loretti, COO, Kryolan India, and Allen John, CEO, ABC Academy Powered by Kryolan detailed how this initiative moves beyond product excellence to structured professional education.

On 14th February 2026, Kryolan marked a strategic shift in India with the launch of the Academy of Beauty With Creativity (ABC Academy) in Mumbai. In a candid conversation with PBI, Kryolan leadership outlines how ABC Academy in Mumbai will redefine professional makeup education in India.

For Wolfram Langer, Director, Kryolan Professional, the decision stemmed from increasing demand within the professional community. “More and more artists are asking for serious education, not just seminars,” he noted. With decades of engagement across film, television, and theatre globally, Kryolan recognised a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to skill development. “Many of our products are created exclusively for professionals. Education must match that level of specialisation,” he added.

The academy’s name reflects its broader intent. Rather than positioning it as a brand-led training centre, the focus is on creativity, structure, and professional identity. Drawing from Germany’s legally recognised “mask designer” qualification which integrates beauty, prosthetics, hair, and special effects. Langer explained that the vision is to offer the “complete picture” of makeup artistry, adapted into modular formats suitable for India.

Manish JhaCEO, Kryolan India, emphasised that the academy’s purpose is not volume but quality. “We are not here to distribute diplomas. We are here to make students profession-ready so they can compete and stand out in the market,” he stated. The initial 20-day master programme will run in small batches with rigorous classroom practice to ensure focused mentorship.

From an academic perspective, Klaudia Loretti, COO, Kryolan India, described the initiative as a bridge between traditional learning and evolving industry demands. “Our objective is to empower artists with mastery over technique and knowledge not product dependency alone,” she said. Courses will span foundational training to advanced areas such as fashion, bridal, airbrush, prosthetics, illusion, and SFX.

Echoing this, Allen John, CEO, ABC Academy Powered by Kryolan highlighted employability as the core outcome. The curriculum is designed to prepare artists for film, television, fashion, and global platforms. He further adds, “We invite aspiring makeup artists to transform into confident professionals, and experienced artists to upgrade their skills to global standards. At our academy, learners gain access to structured modules, clearly defined course objectives, and practical advantages that prepare them for successful careers both in India and internationally”.

As India’s creative industries expand, Kryolan Professional positions ABC Academy as a benchmark-setting institution focused not on scale, but on shaping globally competent professionals.
