Lakmé Salon curated an innovative cut n colour collection by the elements of nature for Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini at Lakmé Fashion Week.
Lakmé Salon and designer duo Paras and Shalini of Geisha Designs brought their creative synergies together. They unveiled. The Elemental Symphony collection. Lakmé Salon’s latest showstopping hair collection was one of the highlights of Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI.
Paras and Shalini’s fashion collection was inspired by elements of nature. It focussed on earth, fire, water, air and cosmos. The backstage heroes of Lakmé Salon designed the hair and makeup. The theme up was ‘Unapologetically You’.
The inspiration behind Lakmé Salon’s Elemental Symphony collection lies in the elemental forces of nature. The Geisha Designs collection is a vibrant fusion of techniques, which drew inspiration from the diverse Elements of Nature. Hand embroideries and fabrics brought to life dynamic fiery colours, textured growth, and cosmic mystery.
Showstopping Styles
Models marched down the catwalk, their hair reflecting the forces of nature. Beginning with the ‘Earth’ theme, the runway saw earthy browns with sun-kissed highlights. It replicated sunshine beaming through rich soil. There was a seamless combination of root melt and ombre methods.
Transitioning to ‘Cosmos,’ the models immersed the audience in a cosmic mystery. Smart sectioning and foil placements created a mesmerising starry night effect. The hair was styled with horseshoe sectioning, diagonal bricks as well as backcombing to create a cosmic design.
‘Air’ channelled that airy feeling with the models flaunting a money piece and the freehand Shatush technique. This helped create a soft, sun-kissed transition for a fresh off-the-beach look. Shatush, a freehand method, softly combines sections of hair. This results in a subtle transition of colour from root to tip.
Next the runway saw the Structured Brick method depicting water. Finally, the Ember hairstyle’s fiery look employed a simple yet efficient freehand technique. It drew on the hair to produce a mesmerising mix of light and shadow.
Make-up Inspiration
The make-up for each element enhanced the overall theme. The collection sparkled with brilliant yellow shadows with gold glitter. Soft pink eyes danced gracefully, spreading to the cheekbones for a hint of ethereal beauty. The cosmos came alive with dazzling silver glitter. The earth tones were peppered with deep brown lips with gold accents. For the rest, a mesmerising pink haze washed across the eyes and cheeks.
Adding to the glamour of the evening, rising Bollywood star Medha Shankr of the critically acclaimed movie ‘12th Fail’ graced the ramp as the showstopper, donning an exquisite creation from the Elemental Symphony Collection. The catwalk had musical accompaniment by Saba Azad and Imaad Shah.
Audrey Souza, National Creative Director, Hair, Lakmē Salon, said, “The hair was inspired by the elements of nature and designed to be an extension of Geisha’s designs. We’ve used bold electric colours on real hair, gravity defying shapes, finger waving textures, multiple lengths curated for high fashion headgears to showcase the style and create the final look.”
Anupma Katyal, National Creative Director – Make-up, Lakmē Salon, added, “The make-up looks created for the Elemental Symphony collection have been curated for the unapologetic women of today.” She added that the make-up features trends like ultra-glossy finish for the skin, water colour translucent eye shadow, full glossy lips, etc.
