L’Oréal India has appointed Jacques Lebel as its new Country Manager, effective 1 October 2025. This key leadership transition reflects the French beauty giant’s renewed strategic focus on India’s rapidly expanding beauty and personal care market.

Lebel will succeed Aseem Kaushik, who steps into the newly created role of Chairman, L’Oréal India. Kaushik took over as Managing Director in January 2023. He began his career with the company back in 1995. In November 2022, he was appointed to lead the India business, succeeding Amit Jain.

Lebel’s global experience and growth credentials

Before his new role in India, Lebel served as General Manager of L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division in Mexico. In that role, he notably accelerated the business growth of the brand in the country. He also brings experience from senior roles at Procter & Gamble and AB InBev. He has worked across Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa.

Aseem Kaushik’s New Mandate

As Chairman, Kaushik will focus on corporate reputation, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and CSR initiatives. These are the key areas supporting L’Oréal’s long-term presence in India.

India: A key growth market

L’Oréal India saw a 12.6% rise in FY24 revenue from operations to ₹5,576.47 crore. Although, the net profit slightly dipped to ₹487.46 crore. The stats underline both potential and challenges in the dynamic Indian market.
