17 September 2025, L’Oréal Professionnel hosted one of the country’s largest salon gatherings, creating a milestone moment for the Indian hair industry. The grand event, L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Colour Coders, brought together 422 hairstylists and 422 models under a single roof and achieved a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the “Most People Colouring Hair.”

Celebrating the power of iconic browns

The spotlight of the evening was on Iconic Browns, L’Oréal Professionnel’s Colour trend of the year. This versatile palette mirrors the evolving preferences of both Indian consumers and salon professionals, proving that brown is far from basic.

Elevating hairstylists as creators

The celebration highlighted the growing influence of India’s hairdresser-creator community. Artistic Ambassadors and Indian Hairdressing Award winners led the transformations, showing how hairstylists today drive trends not only in salons but also across digital platforms. This initiative reflects the brand’s mission to upskill professionals and empower them as creative voices online.

A mega venue for a mega moment

The record-breaking day unfolded in a massive 1-lakh sq. ft. space at NESCO, Mumbai. The venue was equipped with 60 backwashes and stocked with over 5,000 tubes of professional hair colour. The brand line-up included iNOA (ammonia-free), Majirel (a salon favourite), and Dia Colour (demi-permanent gloss). The event generated 1,000+ social mentions in just 24 hours. This gave every participating stylist a platform to showcase their craft and gain recognition.

Months of preparation and education

Leading up to the big day, participants honed their skills through intensive masterclasses conducted by top industry experts. These sessions focused on enhancing digital presence while refining colouring, cutting, and styling techniques, ensuring stylists were fully prepared to demonstrate their artistry.

The highlight of the day was an exclusive masterclass by Min Kim, L’Oréal Professionnel’s Global Colour Ambassador. She demonstrated advanced face-framing and placement techniques. She also created a show-stopping Iconic Brown transformation on actress Kritika Kamra, whose hair emerged exceptionally glossy and vibrant.
