As per Nathan Harding, the CEO and Co-founder of Luum, headquartered in Oakland, they aim to revolutionise the whole process. With their machine, they aim to make eyelash extensions not only faster and more comfortable for clients but also more efficient for service providers.
According to Harding, with the use of AI, the extension process has become more consistent and comfortable for clients. Additionally, when it comes to lash technicians, it has increased their appointment capacity nearly three times. Thereby, saving them from backbreaking and time-consuming tasks. Also further allowing them to focus more on the artistic aspect of the service.
The Procedure of AI-Powered Lash Extension
- Clients begin by selecting their preferred lash length, density, volume, and shape.
- The lash artist guides them to a specially designed chair, where they are positioned for the treatment by the machine.
- The client’s eyes are delicately taped closed as they are slid into the Luum machine.
- During the procedure, the machine applies 50 to 60 lashes to each eye, unless the client desires additional density.
- Once the machine completes its task, the lash artist manually performs any necessary touch-ups to ensure perfection.
It takes nearly 60 minutes to get a full set of lashes. Furthermore, the refills can be done in approximately 50 minutes. Both of which are nearly 30% faster than traditional manual methods.
