Matrix has extended its partnership with KATSEYE, creating a new set of colour-led hair transformations that spotlight technical artistry, product performance, and the growing role of pop culture in professional hair inspiration.
Matrix has continued its collaboration with global brand ambassadors KATSEYE. They brought the group’s latest visual transformation to life through a series of trend-led hair colour looks.
The new phase of the partnership focuses on technical colour work, glossing systems, and hair health support. Each member’s look was built to reflect a distinct identity. It also demonstrated the versatility of Matrix’s lightening, toning, and care portfolio.
For salons and stylists, the collaboration offers a strong trend reference point for colour placement, contrast, shine work, and personalised finishing.
The Transformation Edit: KATSEYE x Matrix
Yoonchae: Platinum with Root Softness
Stylists created Yoonchae’s new platinum look through full-head lightening using BlondeMax 9+. Then came a layered cut that added movement. They refined the colour with Super Sync Glossing Alkaline Demi Permanent Hair Colour, using shades 10N and 11P through the lengths and 9N at the root to create a seamless transition.
Hair health support remained part of the service through Build-A-Bond Liquid Mask and Miracle Creator. The aftercare focus stayed on tone maintenance with So Silver Purple Toning Shampoo.
Sophia: Two-Tone Balayage Contrast
Sophia’s transformation explored contrast through a black-and-blonde balayage. The stylists deepened the base with Super Sync 3N. They lifted the hidden blonde nape section using BlondeMax 9+.
They toned the ends with 11VG, while blended back roots and mid-lengths into 3N for cohesion. Glow Mania shampoo, Glazing Queen Mask, and Food For Soft Oil Serum supported shine and softness.
Megan: Graphic Shine-Line Placement
Megan’s look focused on precision placement. Stylists used Matrix High Riser Lightener to create a hand-painted shine line that retained raw pigment in selected areas.
The finish was more like graphic colour artistry. The stylists used Build-A-Bond Billion Bond Oil to maintain strength and seal the ends after cutting.
Daniela: Gloss Depth with Curl Framing
The stylists refreshed Daniela’s curls through a darker gloss mix of Super Sync 4N and 5N. They then added fine face-framing highlights using BlondeMax 9+ and toned with 10N.
Setter Mousse and Food For Soft Oil Serum helped define curl shape while supporting hydration and shine.
Lara: Multi-Tonal Y2K Lights
Lara’s look leaned into the return of chunky Y2K highlights. The colour story combined a black base using 2N, mocha brown sections toned with 6M, and bright pastel blonde ribbons finished with SPN.
The sleek finish was completed using the Mega Sleek range, including the 96H Anti-Frizz Topcoat, showing how nostalgic placement can be modernised for salon clients today.
Technology Behind the Looks
A key product focus in the transformations was BlondeMax 9+ Oil-Powered Lightener, used to create lift while controlling warmth. The lightener was paired with Matrix Super Sync glossing demi-permanent colour, helping refine tone and increase shine.
