- Skinimalism: It refers to knowing your skin and what it needs. This trend is about firstly understanding the skin’s natural texture. And secondly adopting simple yet effective skincare routines to deal with any skin issues at hand.
- Hydration and moisturisation: These are good-old steps that never disappoint. Wellness expert, Richa Agarwal says, “It is imperative to apply a light moisturiser. As it locks in the moisture and prevents our skin from drying out. It is also vital to keep our body hydrated. As it keeps our skin nourished during the cold season.”
- Face/facial oils: Face oils are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. It helps protect and nourish the skin against the dry and cold winter air. They are said to be one of the key steps off fighting dull skin in winter.
- Vitamin D supplements: Taking vitamin D supplements is the key for the skin’s defences during colder months. Inflammatory conditions like acne, rosacea and eczema often flare up when we have vitamin D deficiency. This can further cause hormonal imbalances, in turn affecting the skin.
- Skin cycling: This is a fast-emerging trend on TikTok. It calls for not using the same skincare routine every day. But using a different active ingredient every four days. It helps to prevent irritation and inflammation from overuse of active ingredients.
